I have been resting and elevating my legs but Im still having leg cramps. Im going into week 36 and I have two more weeks of work. Im a hairdresser so I stand a lot but I never have these cramps when Im working only on my days off. I can't even imagine taking a walk at this point. Tylenol isn't working and Im at a loss here. Any help out there? thanks

Hi Joely, I'm 30 weeks and was waking up almost every night with charlie horses in my legs. My doctor suggested eating a banana every day to increase pota__sium. I've been doing it and it's been actually helping alot. He also said to make sure you're staying very hydrated, drinking lots of water. You are probably alraedy doing that though. I worked at a hair salon at the front desk for 5 years so I understand what you are going through, we couldn't sit either. Good luck and just remember the end is near!

Lots of pota__sium and calcium! Put your feet up and enjoy a nice banana smoothie, you'll feel much better :)

Yes this is my first child, how about you? I love this forum, it has definitely helped ease some of my new mom fears.

You might check into a different calcium/magnesium supplement. I switched prenatals for a week and got horrible cramps and went back to my other ones and they went away. Also like the other girls said, bananas are great for increasing pota__sium. You're almost there though! I can't imagine working a real job until 36 weeks. You're wonder woman.

Gabby....yes this is my first too. We are having a boy and naming him Brody. Do you know what your having? I made myself a big banana smoothie and have been resting. I think Im just having a bad day and unfortunately my most recent days have been bad. Im just so bored at home. My hubby is working and Im already stir crazy. Im not a good sit and rest person. I get so antsy, so this baby is gonna keep me super busy.

Hey Joely, we are also having a boy. His name will be Frederick ( after his daddy) and his middle name will be King. We intend on calling him King but are not sure if he'll get made fun of in school, so we're making that his middle name. We've gotten such mixed responses from people so I would hate to condemn my kid to a life with a name he hates. I love the name Brody, that's a strong name. I am currently working as a nanny and can't wait for my last day. The kids wear me out, there's 3 of them. It's good practice for the future for me though, haha.

i have been getting charlie horses since about 6 months. i find that stretching the calves also helps. stand facing a wall and put one leg behind other and push on wall. repeat w both legs. also turning your ankle in circles to the left and right helps work out any kinks. best wishes. I am due in 3 weeks w a baby girl. her name is Mia Grace. I am spending today fixing up the last minute FUN details of the nursery. so fun! however, i am so tired today so we will see what i get done. lol
