I am 31 weeks prego and have a numbing pain in my belly. I know he moves alot and Im happy to feel him but this is getting to be so painful that it literally takes my breath away. Im trying not to complain but I know it only gets worse from here. I can't get comfortable and my back is in so much pain that I just end up crying. I also have numbness in my fingers which I have heard is due to the baby being on the nerves. Does anyone else have these problems?

hi Joley, I don't have the same numbness you are talking about but have heard a lot about it and why it happens in pregnancy. So sorry to hear you are suffering...The painful movement of the baby is something I felt for a long time, it also took my breath away, especially when he made very large movements. Now that he's bigger (I'm 37 weeks) it doesn't hurt anymore, it feels more gentle, so I'm sure this will improve for you also as your baby gets bigger and doesn't have quite the space to punch and kick and make you miserable.
As for the numbness, I have a friend who swears by acupuncture, she says that it has helped so many of her uncomfortable and painful pregnancy symptoms. A good prenatal ma__sage might be helpful too. Good luck and feel better.

Hi Joley, I had that happen to me with all 4 of my babies and what I would do is have my husband stretch my legs and arms in any non painful way and ma__sages to areas like if it was my leg he would stretch and message my b___tox, hip and leg area. If you are alone try to do some non straining stretches because sometimes the stretching kicks the baby to move in a different spot or position so they get off that annoying nerve and you can actually be comfortable again. I would suggest that if it getts too painful make sure to call you OB and let them know so if they want to look into it more to make sure all is ok then they get that chance. ALWAYS remember that you are not complaining you are just concerned and would like to make sure you and baby are safe than sorry. GL and hope you start to feel alittle better.
