Has anyone been told that they have to have this shot and if so what did you think about that? My doctor has given me a prescription to have it done and I am just concerned. I don't know exactly what I think...Is this something they do for everyone. Thanks

If you are Rh negative which means you have a negative instead of postive blood type you have to have the shot a few times during your pregnancy to make sure your body doesn't develop and antibody against a positive blood type. I am rh negative and this is my second pregnancy so I'll have to have them again. Don't worry. I hope everyone goes well!

it means that your have a negative blood group....15% of people have this....the shot coats your blood incase the babys blood was to mix with yours....your body will develope antibody and any future pregnancys you have your body will try and fight them off......it sounds scary but with the shot there are pretty much no risks in this happeneing......im RH negative and had 1 anti D at 28 weeks with my daughter and a few after because of bleeding ( if you bleed or have anasty fall they like to give it to you) and you have one after the baby is born if they are positive......my daughter is also negative so i didnt need it.....i my 28 week jab booked nexed week.......i live in the uk so dont know if they do things differently here....its also called an anti D here
