Ok, so this is my first so I have no idea what is going on with me right now. I know my baby's head is down and low because when she has the hiccups she headbutts my cervix. And when she moves around I can feel her head moving right down the center. But lately I have been having these pains. It's kind of hard to describe. Almost like if you were to jab yourself in the belly button nice and hard. Just a sharp pain. And it's mostly when I'm walking or standing. I tell my husband that something feels different and that I have this feeling she may make her debut a little earlier than we plan on, but he just tells me that I'm convincing myself it's something that it's not because this is our first baby and I have nothing to go off of. Anyone have any idea of what it could be? I also have no idea what it feels like if the baby drops except lately I've been having to pee a lot more often and when I have my BH, I can feel her pushing down on my bladder so there's another trip to the restroom. Help!!

I've had some stabbing and pulling pains near the belly b___ton, and I think they are the separating of the ab muscles. It hurts. I also get the stabbing shooting pains in the cervix. I don't know what else to tell you. I am 39 wks now and I"ve been having weird pains on and off forever!

I have been having these horribly sharp pains in my lower stomach and boy do they hurt. They come and go but they are also pretty consistent. I asked my Perinatologist yesterday when I saw him and he said it sounds like round ligament pain. He said if it is lower stomach pain that is usally what it is. They are painful and scary but if that is all they are then I guess we will have to deal with it for a while longer huh? I am 33 weeks today so I am right there with you and I too am constantly in the bathroom- it is driving me crazy..lol. Good luck and I hope you start feeling better.

Hey Teddy! The pain you feel in your cervix is just form the pressure. I had the same thing with both my pregnancies. Our daughter will be 3 in february, and our son will be 11 weeks on Thursday. You most likely haven't dropped yet, but once you reach 37 weeks you can start using an exercise ball to help things along.

hey mjvdec01: i have to wonder if i've dropped lol. my tummy used to be so much higher and everyone i've seen says i look like i've dropped a little. i pee more often now than before and when she's moving her head around, it's pretty much as low as i can feel. my doctor hasn't said anything yet, but she did notice that the baby's head is ALL the way down which made it hard for them to get good pics of her. even though the tech gave me a due date of november 28th, my doc said any time after november 1st is what she's guessing lol. not very exact, but hey that's only 4 weeks away.

That is great if you have. Now you just need to engage in the next four weeks and get things moving. Do you have an excercise ball? I used one from 36 weeks on and it really helped. Are you having a boy or a girl? Have you decided on a name yet? We named our little man Nathaniel, but we call him Nathan or Nate for short. Sometimes I call him Moose because he is SO BIG!

nah, no birthing ball or anything. i'm kind of "fluffy" so i'm scared to pop one, but i know they're tough lol. and it's a girl. i'm so happy! i always wanted a daddy's little girl for my husband. and the name we like is kiara. it was the name my mom almost gave me before deciding on teresa and i just love it. middle name is still "um" so far lol. as far as engaging, i have no idea what that would even feel like. all i know is when she moves her head, i can feel it in my hooha and sometimes i feel her just settle her head right in the center and then it's time for me to pee but i'm not sure what i'm feeling for lol. lots of bh, though and even though i haven't taken my cla__ses yet, i'm getting pretty good at deep breathing lol.

Teddy, I don't have an answer for you but I just wanted to say that I'm glad everything has worked out great for you and your baby. I remember all the drama that you went through with the nurse and the MC scare. Congratulations on making it this far! Oh and BTW I found out yesterday that I too am having a little girl.

katie: yay girls all around! lol. ty for the well wishing. it's weird when my husband and i look back on that time and now we're so close to meeting our little girl. i'm just floored at everything that has happened. and now i can say next month we'll have our little baby girl. i love it! i must say, though, i'm partially selfish. i'm eager to have my bladder back lol.

Oh, I hear ya on the bladder thing. It's getting to be ridiculous, all the peeing!LOL! As for what you'be been feeling the baby being so low. I was feeling the same thing, some pressure and slight stabbing pains, but not as many as you it seems. I also, she felt sooooo low, like resting on my bladder constantly and my peeing ramped up A LOT. So, I thought for sure she had dropped (I'm due Nov 8th) but when I went in yesterday I asked if she had dropped and my doc said no. She said she could feel her head because I'm 1cm dialated, but that she certainly wasn't dropped. I was like, "YOU CAN FEEL HER HEAD?!" So, it made me think , "What on earth is the poor thing feeling when DH and I are doing the...well, can't call it the baby dance any more, but you know!" This is my first, so it's ALL new to me!LOL! Good luck teddy. I asked you this in your other post, but when is your next doc visit? You can always just ask them to check your cervic for dialation or being emphased and then ask if her head has dropped. I think I drive my doc crazy with all my questions...but inquiring minds want to know!LOL! Good luck!

tonigirl: y'know i didn't even see the other post lol. my next appointment is october 13th so i have a couple of weeks. i'll be 35 weeks then. so close!!!!! and i don't think my doc will check unless she thinks it's necessary because of all the problems i had at the beginning of the pregnancy, she probably doesn't want to mess with anything in there unless she absolutely has to. but she's such a great doctor, i totally trust her. that and i'd be scared if i was dilated or effaced any lol. i prefer blissful ignorance =P good luck to you too!
and a nice update for me. i finally made the appointment with the pediatrician so we see him on the 31st of october. kinda close, but at least the appointment's made now lol.
