BAF - March 3

Hey Gals, as promised, here's Ford's birth story. Chris, I think you may be next as I had the bloody show just before it all started for me! Here's the story of how it happened. On Sunday, a week ago, I started noticing I was leaking a lot of liquid on & off that day but it was clear. Later that day, I pa__sed a huge mucus plug that was slighly tinged w/blood. On Monday, the leaking continued but steadily increased. By 5pm, I was getting a bit concerned so I decided to call my dr. She said to monitor it & if I soaked a pad w/in 1hr to go to the hospital. It slowed down & I went to bed. At 5am on Tuesday morning, I woke up with an incredible back ache. When I stood up to go to the bathroom, I felt something trickle down my leg. This time, it was also bloody. By 7am I started timing my contractions. They were mild but definitely noticable, about 10-15 min apart. At 8am, I called my dr and she said come in immediately for her to check me. So by 9am I was there and she said my forebag of water had broken and as she was examining me to see how much I had dialated (3cm), she broke my regular bag of water. She looked at me, I said oh my and she said go to the hospital, I'll call them to let them know you're on your way. By 10:30am I was in the bed & on Pitocin. By 12:30 I was at 4cm & got my epidural. I was very comfortable & basically laid there all day not making much progress. They kept uping the Pitocin and I never made it past 5/6cm. So finally at midnight, the on call dr examined me, said the baby was face up and didn't look like he would come on his own. So we took the dr's advice & he did a c section. Ford was born at 1:07am, weighing 7lb 1oz, 19 in long. He is so cute & I can't believe how much I love him!!!

Brandy sounds like you had a good, fairly easy experience even if it ended in a c-section. I am so jealous. I want my baby! No hope of induction either unless she's over 2 weeks late or showing signs of distress. For now she is quite comfy apparently. Melissa, congrats on the induction! Tomorrow is the big day! Hopefully that pitocin doesn't put the pain over the top for you, although it does for so many people. I hope you have as good and easy a labor as you did before. Maybe even go all by yourself tonight-- that would be cool. I started with those shooting pains a couple evenings ago. It's quite surprising and sudden. Just think-- I could have 3 more weeks of this fun if she holds out until her due date. And Chris, sounds like we'll be hearing a birth story from you very soon! Blood is always a good thing at this point! Today I got some of the bedding accessories I ordered-- I got my window valance, rug, lamp, and wall stickers. They are so cute! The valance has little corduroy loops that hang on the curtain rod. So adorable. The lampshade came messed up, though, so I've got to take it to the store and get it exchanged. That's always frustrating. I try to save myself a trip and end up with a mess up. Good excuse to go baby shopping again though! :) Erica, hope to hear from you soon and see the adorable pics of little Hannah!!

BRANDY: Thank you soo much for sharing your birth story.. the pictures were adorable. APRIL: Thanx for your pictures as well.. they were very very cute. This will be my last post for a bit. I feel silly to say I am quite nervous. Not about the birth per say, but theinduction has me anxious. I guess it's the fear of the unknown compared to what I already have experienced. Only time will tell. Thanks for all the well wishes. I'll have a lot to catch up on once we're home. CHRIS- GL to you. Maybe you'll be in the hospital sooner rather than later. :) SARAH- Will you send me your email address so I can send out some pix when we get home? Mine is kmjm at gvtc dot com Bye for now.

Hi Ladies, Hope everyone is doing good. I just wanted to give a quick update on what is going on with me. I was going to post something earlier that I was going to the hospital but I had too much to do before I walked out the door but here I am now. I started to have contractions about 4pm and then about 5pm my dh and I took our dd and ds on a walk so I could possibly get things going more. We got home and I could hardly feel anything because my heart was racing from the walk and I was all hot and breathing heavy. When my body calmed down I was able to still feel contractions so I called my ob office to advise the situation. They asked I come up to the hospital to get checked and monitored. I went up to the hospital and they checked me. I just want to mention that last Friday at my ob appointment I was thick, soft and a fingertip. Tonight I was 60% effaced, soft and 1cm but they were able to still push baby up when feeling for how high the baby was. My contractions were real and babies heart rate is perfect. Doc said I am in the beginning stages of labor and I should go home and wait it out until I have to somewhat breath with contractions. I agreed and now I am home. Doc thinks its going to be in the next couple days but she wanted me to still keep my Thursday appt just in case I haden't had baby. She thinks I won't make it to Thursday, Yeah! It was all great news to me because I am soooooo ready as many of you are too. Wish me luck and Ipromise to keep you all updated. I'm a little uncomfortable now so I won't be chatting much longer tonight but again I will drop in to check everything out with all my girls until I go.

Astra - March 4

Good morning ladies, great news Chris and Mahagen, I hope you go soon! I am thinking of you Melissa, hoping all is well... As for me, nothing is happening over here. I will be 38 weeks tomorrow and I'm doing good. Finally over my cold, still sleeping ok (knock on wood!) and my body seems to be cooperating with me more of less. Everyone around me is starting to get anxious, but I'm surprisingly calm. The only thing I can complain about right now is that I have no energy left! Hope you are all well and have a good day...

Rainbowbrite - March 4

Mahagen/Chris it sounds so super good for you two right now.... I would like to atleast know when i will have her BY!!! I mean i know my due date isn't until 3/21 and my doctor won't let me go over a week late so i guess by 3/28 but GOSH that seems so far away still.... so i am hoping my baby girl decides to do something!!! But that is great news for both of you ladies!!! I can't wait to hear or not hear from you!!!! =) If you get what i'm saying... =) Yah Melissa for baby day today!!!! Congratulations!!! and also yah for Kristin!!! you're baby day is only two days away!!!! Can't wait to hear baby stories and see pics of the babies!!!! Congratulations Erica on baby Hannah! It sounds like it went really well or maybe it is just because we got the short version??? But overall it sounds like it was a piece of cake for you!!! That is a great thing!!!

BAF - March 4

Erica, Congrats on Hannah's arrival! Can't wait to see photos of the little one! Chris, hang in there, you have to be close. I'm off to get my staples out & take Ford to his dr today (our first outing). Hopefully he gets a good report & is gaining weight. Keep those photos & birth stories coming! Blessings to all !

sarah21 - March 4

I pa__sed along Erica's pictures to everyone. Hannah is just adorable. I was so glad I got to these pics before 3 days from now... eek! Happy induction day to Melissa! Woohoo! And Mahagen, yikes! Sounds like you'll be any time girl! Congratulations. Keep us updated. Astra, you made me think with your post about being calm now. I am getting that way even though I don't have everything ready for baby. I mean I have energy and a desire to get things done but I'm not panicky feeling like I was for a while. My mom is getting more anxious, though, since she's helping me get a lot of stuff done. You should have seen her with our wet saw yesterday cutting tile. She was a maniac, lol! Her back is probably terribly sore today but she was like "We've GOTTA GET THIS DONE!" Heh heh. I just hate having only one bathroom because that means.... I can't get to the toilet to pee all day. Ick. Robyn I plan to head over to the infant forum after the baby is here to keep up with anyone I can! I think it will help preserve my sanity while I am home all day with a new baby. Anyway I am going to check out the rest of the happenings on the forum.

Rainbowbrite - March 4
