After you have your baby, when does it get its first immunisation shots?

can you travel with the baby before that?

I wouldn't, their immune systems aren't up to par yet, and you don't want to expose them to anything they can't handle. There is nothing worse than a sick baby right after delivery. The other problem is that you will be scheduling frequent visits to the pediatrician in the first weeks. Especially if your baby becomes jaundiced, or isn't gaining weight as to be expected. You really need to wait until after the baby is born, and talk with your pediatrician before you book any trips.

I wouldn't travel in the 1st few months either- that's just me. A baby 3-4 weeks and earlier with a fever of 102 and above automatically get emitted and have to have a spinal tap...At least at the 2 clinics I went to. I would agree with Mjvdec01 to talk to your ped...if you plan to interview one before that I would just ask them their thoughts! Good luck!
