You know Erin - I bet you are sleeping better because of the lack of stress that you have now. A ton of stuff has been lifted off your shoulders in the last month or so and that makes a huge difference. I am glad to hear that you are getting better rest and I bet Creedance is going through a growth spurt. I too find lots of really quiet days and then she willbe a moving and kicking machine for a day or two and then quiet again. It must be a growth pattern they go through??

My husband was such a sap with our first daughter (and our second, but ya know, the first....). He gets along really well with our boy, but they aren't as close as he is with the girls. I think it has to do with how he was raised. His dad was hard on him, so I think it affects him and Bradley sometimes. Now the girls......that a different story. Audrey-Rose, my oldest, is still daddy's little girl. Josephine, on the other hand, marches to the beat of a different drum and she is pretty much her own little girl. That girl has such a fire in her. I can't wait to see what Creedence is going to be like. It's weird to think that in as little as 8 weeks we could be having babies. Mine can stay in for the next 11 weeks, though. I wouldn't mind.

I just got back from my doc apt today and they said my amniotic fluid level is still high. Two weeks ago it was 26 and this week it went down to 22. Doctor said the anything over 25 is a concern. But that she didn't know why it was 22. It should be around 14 or so. It could be nothing. She said most things like heart problems, neurological and such would be picked up on the u/s and all that is fine. So they drew blood and they will call me with the results. It may just be a flook. But I won't know for a few days. It's nothing really bad just to me since he is inside of me, if something IS wrong I feel like it's my fault even though there is nothing I could do.

Sounds like you have been a busy busy lady Danielle!! Wow! Way to go! I can barely keep my eyeb___s peeled this morning. LOL!!! Erin - I can see Creedance being a real mommies girl for some reason! SHe will be a spitfire like you too!! Hubby was very distant from his dad as well growing up because his dad did the exact same work that hubby does now and was always gone, and I often wonder if we do have a boy in the future what that relationship will be like as well.
Mommam - if doc was not concerned, try not to worry too much. I think Mason will be just fine and maybe he just likes to pee alot!! I have never had my dr check the fluid level. Is that something that they should be checking regularly??

Hi ladies, baby Lukas is still being lazy but I had a banana shake from Sonic yesterday they he must have either loved or hated.. he was moving all around for me. YAY! So since my DR appointment last week, they say he is breech. I see everyone else is head down. I wonder/hope he still has time to turn! I am crossing my fingers. I finally posted some belly pics on my space the other day so check em out. its /islandfever3 I think my pictures are public view. Anyways, I have been sleeping mainly on my back but propped up with pillows cause im not comfy on my sides either, plus I have to share a full size bed with a 6ft man who sleeps like hes a noodle - all over the bed - grr we need a bigger bed! So has anyone felt their tummy and it hurt? Today and yesterday I noticed when I tap my tummy or push near my belly b___ton its painful - almost like little pins and needles in my belly b___ton, or like someone stabbing me - haha - okay maybe not that painful but you get my drift.. so anyone else experience that?

Alicia, try not to fret. She said over 25 is cause for concern and you are at 22. So that's positive! They've measured mine at my u/s's, but never said either way if it was a normal level or not. I will be thinking about you, though. Did she say ANYTHING about what it could be, or what they were checking with the blood?

Also Alicia, dont worry too much - I am addicted to watching discovery health and they only seem concerned when there is not enough fluid, not too much. So it cant be too horrible, and like they said, your at 22 which is good - not over 25... but what do those numbers mean anyways? is it the amount of fluid? like the number of grams, or something? Im confused!

I am trying not to worry but that's what i do best.... they are checking my blood to see if anything is high i guess.. I dont know what they are looking for... I guess I was in kinda shock and I didn't take in all the info.... here is what i Googled....The amniotic fluid is part of the baby’s life support system. It protects your baby and aids in the development of muscles, limbs, lungs and the digestive system. Amniotic fluid is produced soon after the amniotic sac forms, about 12 days after conception. It is first made up of water that is provided by the mother. After about 20 weeks into the pregnancy, it is primarily made up of fetal urine. As the baby grows, he or she will move and tumble in the womb with the help of the amniotic fluid. In the second trimester the baby will begin to breathe and swallow the amniotic fluid. Amniotic fluid levels increase regularly until about 32-33 weeks gestation, and then they level off. In some cases the amniotic fluid may measure too low or too high. Normal fluid levels may vary, but are usually considered an AFI of 5-25 centimeters or a fluid level of about 800-1000 mL. If the measurement of amniotic fluid is too low it is called oligohydramnios. If the measurement of amniotic fluid is too high it is called polyhydramnios.
What is Polyhydramnios?
Polyhydramnios is the condition of having too much amniotic fluid. Doctors can measure the amount of fluid through a few different methods, most commonly through amniotic fluid index (AFI) evaluation or deep pocket measurements. If an AFI shows a fluid level of more than 25 centimeters (or above the 95th percentile), a single deep pocket measurement of <8, or a fluid level of 2000mL or more, then a diagnosis of polyhydramnios would be made. About 1-2% of pregnant women have too much amniotic fluid. Most of these cases are mild, with only slightly elevated levels.
What causes levels of amniotic fluid to be elevated?
Congenital defects – The higher the fluid level, the increased chance of a congenital defect. These birth defects hinder swallowing, which can prohibit ingestion of the amniotic fluid, resulting in build up of fluid. Other birth defects could also include intestinal tract blockage or neurological abnormalities.

mommam don't worry too much, yours is still under 25 and i watched a show on discovery health, the babies special delivery again, and a lady had way too much fluid her whole pregnancy causing her to look much bigger in the belly than she should but her baby was very healthy! she just happened to have alot of fluid with it.

I know I shouldn't worry too much. It just worries me when they want to test and do u/s everytime I go. I just don't want anything to be wrong w/ my baby just like everyone else...

Alicia, I am so srry that you are going through all of this worry. On the bright side though, at least you get to take a peek at Mason at every appointment. I am sure that they would tell you if there was a cause for concern. I am sure that Mason will be perfectly healthy when he's born though. Keep thinking positive.

Is anyone else nervous about labor? I have been gung-ho up till about 2 weeks ago. I am really questioning my ability to go through labor. Too late now though!! What really got me was I was looking at a ruler the other day that had inches on one side and centimeters on the other. I looked at 10cm and realized that's not very big!!!! At least not compared to the size of a newborn that is supposed to fit through it!!! I'm the type of person that I don't like pain, but I can usually deal with it without too much medicine. But, I don't see myself going through labor without an epidural anyway. Who knows? I may change my mind before the time comes. Oh, I have another question too. Keith's cousin keeps telling him that when my water breaks the smell is going to be horrendous(sp?). Does it really smell that bad? The cousin said the smell of it from when his g/f went into labor made him have to leave the delivery room. (Of course, he's an a__s too.) Keith said that regardless of the smell, he won't leave my side because he wants us to be together for the first time that we meet Brynley. He can be so sweet when he wants to. Other times, he can be the biggest a__s I've ever met. Example, we saw one of his aunts a few days ago out in town. His first words were "Look how big she is!! Her belly keeps getting bigger!!" I was like thanks, just what I needed to hear the most!!.......lol.

Hello ladies...its been awhile since I've posted so I thought I'd drop by and say hello. Things are going well here. Just had an OB appt the other day. They did a 24 hour urine test to check for pre-e. So far I'm in the clear! Yay! (I came down with it last pregnancy). Hey hopeful....yes, I'm nervous about labour and this is my 2ns time around. I had my first daughter 20 months ago, and overall labor went really well. So, I'm not sure why I'm so nervous again this time around. I'm also not big on pain, and I got the epidural last time, and will again this time. I was induced too, which I hear is a lot harder. I hope this time I can go into labor naturally. Oh, and about the water smelling?? I have never heard of that. Not once have I ever heard anyone say it smelled. I didn't smell anything when mine broke during labor, and nobody in the room said anything either. Plus, when women are concerned they are leaking amniotic fluid, they are told to smell it to see if it smells like pee...they never mention to see if it smells like anything else. So my guess is no, it doesn't smell.

island fever, how did your doctor check to see your babies position? Did she do an ultrasound or just feel for her head and bottom? How far along are you? I haven't heard anything about the position of my baby. I don't think she's head down though because I don't feel any pressure on my bladder. My doctor hasn't checked yet or seem concerned about it. I saw your pics on myspace...cute. I'm on there too for anyone that wants to see /a___lovesnate.
