i am so with ya on that Erin! come July, I told Wyatt that it is my holiday time!! It told him that since I have done all the work of carrying this little monkey around for this long and all the stuff that goes with it, it is my turn to do nothing for a bit, since when she comes it will be life unlike I have ever known it!! Again Erin, I give you soooo much credit for doing it all with three already!!

I hear ya Erin. Jeremy is so set on us having a joint checking account. I just can't pull myslef to do it. I make 2.5-3 times what he makes but I pay all the bills... Like for Mason and thing etc. HE helps out but the majority of it I pay. Which is fine. He is still in school and I know his day is coming...lol but I know that is he was to get a look at my bank account he would probably go out and by that new truck... But he doesn't realize that things come up and you have to have money for a rainey day. And since the lawsuit was supose to be done by May yet now my gdad is MIA we are stuck back at square one and theres no way i will let anything bad happen to my mom. I have barely bought anything for myself since we found out Mason was coming.... I just have no clue what to expect cost wise for a newborn... I guess I just want to be safe than sorry.

Yeah, my husband is like Sweeeettt, we have $900 in checking!!! Lets go shopping! And I'm like, yeah, I also just wrote $350 in checks to the babysitter, my ob is getting ready to cash a $180 check and I have to pay rent. I used to be able to stash money away, but lately that's been impossible and I had to use that stash anyways. So, but it's good in that case then Alicia you have your own account. To be perfectly honest with you, if and when things start picking up and Carl hopefully gets offshore more than a few days a month, I am going to open a separate savings, one he doesn't know about, so we can maybe finally save for a house down payment. It really is a nice feeling, albeit seldom for us, to check the bank account and be "wow, we might not be overdrawn this week!" My biggest paranoia is when Creedence gets here. I REALLY want to spend some time with her before I have to go back to work and I can't do that on hubby's pay alone. Sucks

oh and patti, I realized I never answered you about where I work in manhattan. I'm on 16th st and 5th ave. it's the union square neighborhood. were you anywhere near here? I do walk down 42nd street daily to get home so that's where I was looking for you!!! tell me what you did while you were here. I hope you found a fake bag guy and bought at least 1 kate spade, louie or coach bag, you have to do that when you're a tourist here!

Well You ahve to remember erin that we are newlyweds. We havent even had our 1yr yet. we got preggo 1.5 months after we got married thanks to birth control... So I still havent even changed my DL to Minchey yet....lol. But I plan to do that soon ...lol. So our checking acct have remained the way they were. But I also do all the finaccing w/ the house we are leasing to purchase so I ahve to have extra money for the stuff that comes up with that... IF we ever do a joint and thats a BIG IF i will also have a side acct he doesnt know about or doesnt ahve access too. LOL. I feel like such a bad wife....lol

GOOD IDEA keep your money seperate if that is the situation, i wouldnt feel guilty about it at all, just look at it like as with kids, they don't know what is best for them so you have to put the knives and bleach away right? LOL so if you know hubby will be like a child with hard earned and hard saved money just keep his little grubby hands off of it!! It would be nice if men were like sally's but that's just not the way most men are.

Morning ladies!! Sorry Gabbi to leave you hanging there yesterday. Iw as on a half day and took off after lunch! You know, we didn't get a chance to go and get any knock-off bags, to both my MIL and my dissapointment. The boys were to anxious to get down to battery park as we were doing a helicopter tour that afternoon. And after that we ran out of time there. :( I had wanted to get a nice big tote kind of bag, I guess I will have to wait to see if we ever get back there! Alicia, good luck this morning at the dr! Waiting to hear from ya!

Had my shower last night at Moms. It was fun! Just a few girlfriends that live in the city and it was more of a chance to just hang out and visit, which was awsome. Living out of town, we don't get a lot of time to see each other, so the catch up was great! Was given some really nice stuff as well.

Got some cute onsies and bibs and mittens and that kind of stuff. A jolly jumper, a couple homemade beautiful recieving blankets. One girlfriend gave me a huge picture frame that has a spot on the top for a pic of baby, then it branches down to two pics of huby and I and then branches off us to spots for pics of each of the grandparents. It is beautiful. It has an inscription on it about generations. Will look awsome in her room! And mom finally let go and gave me the quilt that she made for the crib!! Lol!! I think she wanted to hang onto it until after the shower, but it is now mine all mine!! :)hee hee!!
