oh it's sooooo nice to be done!! casey came on august 7th at 2:49 pm!!!!! so, the night before I went into the hospital to be induced, I was a week past my due date and they wanted to get her out b/c they suspected she was a rather large bugger. oh boy were the right, she was born 10lbs, 3oz. so mike and I headed to st.barnabas hospital! we got there I was still 2 centimeters as I had been for the past 2 weeks, I got a balloon in my cervix (omg ouch), got an ambien and then got NO SLEEP all night, I literally got up to pee 25 times, no f'ing joke. me and my IV! in the morning I was 4 centimeters and having contractions. the hospital was packed and I had to wait like an hour for an L&D room to open up. finally we moved, I was 5 and they started the pitocin and broke my water - quite possibly the worst part of it all. why didn't any of you warn me about this??? it doesn't just break and were done, it keeps coming out for hours and i'm just sitting in there laying in it!! I mean they changed the wee wee pads I was laying on but there was no keeping up with it! it was so gross. my contractions are bad now so I get the epi - and...my water keeps breaking as they're giving me the epi - I was so worried it was going to spill on the guys shoes!!! so I'm much better now, all doped up. now I'm stressing myself and mike out b/c I have to poop and I really want to get it out before I start pushing (anyone who has talked to me before knows this was my biggest fear, pooping on the doctor). but Im' not allowed to get up b/c I've had the epidural. I'm also wondering where my pee is going b/c up until now I've been going every 15 minutes or so and I hadn't gone in a while ( or maybe I wasn peeing on myself??). the nurse tried to help me go in a bedpan but I couldn't get any pee out, so she cathedered me and it was so wierd to hear all that pee coming out of my bladder!! about an hour goes by and my doc comes in and I tell her I really have to poop and what should I do b/c I want to get it out before we start pushing. so she's laughing and decides to check me and I'm 9 centimeters!!! it went sooo fast no one could believe this was my 1st baby! my doc had to go do a c-section so as long as I was comfy (and I was, I didn't feel a thing) she wanted me to hang tight - about 40 minutes later she came back and I was ready to go!! we kicked all the company out of my room and we tried pushing. I was told to push like I was pooping but I didn't b/c I was too scared to poop!! so after about 4 tries my doc and nurse wanted to wait a little longer to push b/c nothing was happening when I was pushing. however I knew it was b/c I wasn't pushing right b/c I was scared to poop. so 10 mintues later I made mike go get my doc and I fessed up - my doc assured me she didn't care if I pooped, that she wanted me to poop b/c that meant I was doing it right, and that more than half of the women she delivers poop and it was no big deal. FINE, I'll push!! so 40 minutes later I had CASEY, all 10.3 pounds of her!! I'll never forget the feeling of relief when she finally came out. they were impressed I got her out va___ally and so quickly for my first babe!! overall great experience, I'll do it again!! i did get cut, and I have to warn all you ladies who are still pregnant with their first, the recovery hurts and it took me about 1 week to poop and that was scarier and hurt more than having the baby!! but we're all doing great now! this is the best!!!

What you said about the water breaking cracked me up. I could never forget that. Each time I'd sigh and say "It's over now.... phew." more would just come pouring out. I do recall when the baby gets closer to coming out it can feel like you really have to poop. But anyway congrats on a big healthy girl!
