Bryandi- My dh and I are VERY sarcastic too! Probably b/c we have been together for literally forever. After your 1 week and 4 days do you go to a regular 40 hour week? Jess- You are my idol, only 10 lbs gained??! That sure does sound like a big baby you have there, glad to hear the scan went well, it's always nice to get another peak at them. As far as dh goes, I know what you mean, I have b__wn things slightly out of proportion on occasion too. I just over-think things and before you know it, I'm ready to tear his head off. I wouldn't do anything rash yet. So I posted a question about braxton hicks b/c I have never had them and don't know if they are starting or not. Do you guys know what they feel like? I think my lil guy is just getting big but I had this wierd tight feeling in my tummy. What do you think? Colleen

I think I get them too. My stomach just feels really tight, almost like when I go to take a deep breath its hard b/c my abdomen is so tight, but they dont hurt. My doctor said this is braxton hicks. I dont get them very often, just once a while. As for my 10 pounds, I still have 10 weeks to go, so lets hope I dont gain another 20 in that time ;o)

Hi girls, I am glad to hear everyone is doing well. I am going in for my glucose test tomorrow. I am 29 weeks now and have gained 34 lbs total. I think I will hit the 150 mark tomorrow. They told me the baby was pretty big a month ago, however I won't get another us unless there is a problem. Jess- I am so glad to here you still have hope for your marriage. I know its hard - been there with my husband, it's been a hell of a rocky road for us. Things are much better now, however he doesn't get along with anyone in my family, so that makes this whole pregnancy very hard. He thinks they shouldn't be a part of my life. Well, I just tell him to stuff it, cause they are my family still. (He has decent reasons, however you can't just completely give up your family, i know mine are decent people even if they've made mistakes. So, sometimes we don't see eye to eye either. Colleen, I am glad to hear you are doing well. I am scheduled to work until 12/12/08, if I could, I'd work longer - due date is 12/21/08. I teach so I must give advance notice. I just pray that I make it that far. Last pregnancy I developed, PUPPPS, a skin rash that is terrible and couldn't stay in work, as my stomach actually bled from itching so much. I am starting to itch now, and hope that its just normal to itch a bit and its not the rash. please pray for that. It was awful. ANyway I'll touch base after the dr tomorrow afternoon. see you all

Colleen, I will go to a normal 40 hour week after that. But it will seem like even less. There will be so little to do that I will be able to browse the internet a little and go out for long lunches (lol everyone else will get to drink, but I will be stuck with water) and relax basically no more stress. I can not wait. I am even considering taking Thursday and Friday off after the 15th and having a long 4 day weekend. I don't think I have every had Braxton Hicks either. I don't know what a contraction feels like. Jess you are totally my idol too! I had done really good at maintaining a pound per week, but I am 29 weeks and have gained 31 pounds now. So I have lost 2 lbs worth of ground. I have 10 more weeks to go too and really hope that I stay under 50 this pg. jess, don't worry about venting, we are here to listen and it helps to have someone to talk to when you are stressed out. Tara, my tummy always itches when I get this far into the pregnancy. Itching is definately normal. You skin is stretching and that can irritate. However itching so much that you bleed is not normal so just keep an eye on it! Tomorrow is Wed. that means I am halfway thru this week!!! YAY!!

Hi all... here's my take on braxton hicks--- that I totally a__sume as I have nothing to compare it to. When I "think" i have them, It feels like a very large solid movement is happening in the tummy- like the whole body may be turning or something- and my tummy feels much harder to the touch than what it usually feels like. I a__sume this is braxton hicks. I notice that I feel this more when I'm more active during a day, walking, lifting (yes, I know I shouldn't lift things), moving things around, etc. than when I'm more calm and sitting or laying around. They do scare me a bit- especially because I feel them on more active days. They don't last for very long. Just 10-15 seconds, maybe 30 seconds tops.

Well girls-totally off topic, but I finally confronted DH last night. He totally denied everything and had reasonable explanations. Now I look like a total psycho and feel really stupid for bringing it up. Sigh.... I am somewhat releived, maybe it was all in my head.

Tara- good luck on your glucose test! That sounds like a tough situation between dh and your family, but I agree, people make mistakes and they are still family. Can you take benadryl for the itching? I have seen some other posts talking about using it. Hopefully it will not get any worse. I don't know what my last day of work is, I am still waiting to talk to HR to get the details on the Short Term Disability. Bryandi- you should definately take a 4 day weekend to unwind from the 60 hours weeks. I'm glad there is relief in sight. miscmms- What you are describing is exactly how I feel but I have convinced myself that it's just b/c he is getting big and running out of room rather than braxton hicks. It hasn't happened yet too much today except on the drive to work. Jess- I am sooo glad you confronted him and he had explanations. I hope he is being truthful and you are just as hormonal as the rest of us, lol. Try to relax. I'll make you feel better about the psycho thing, years ago my dh and I went through some pretty heavy problems as I think most couples do, and while he was traveling I packed up the whole freakin house and moved in with my mom. What a shock, poor guy comes home and the house is empty. Anyway, we ended up getting back together (obviously). Is anyone else extremely cranky? I just hate everyone at work. Colleen

Hello ladies. Did my glucose test - I think it really made me tired. It gave me a stomach ache after. They also did some other blood tests to check on my rash and to rule out any other infections. They believe it is the same thing that I had with my son, however they will know in 2 days. It only came out around 36 weeks before and I still have 8 weeks before then - I would really hate to be on medicine for 8 weeks. I am praying it stays tolerable unlike the last pregnancy. Colleen - Cranky is an understatement. I have been like the weather here in New Jersey, Up and down, hot and cold. My poor family really must believe I am looney. I've been trying to get fifty million things done and its getting a little harder to do those things myself, so I tend to get moody when I can't do it. Jess - glad to here things are working out right now. I am glad you feel better. I have been getting braxton hicks so the doctor says, Only like 2 x a day. I get really tight in the lower abdomen. it's pretty crazy.. Oh yeah, no wait gain in 3 weeks!!!! That is exciting. Especially since I have been eating quite well. It's paying off. Talk to you guys soon. Tara

Tara, I had a weird itchy rash in my 2nd trimester, and thankfully it went away. It was TERRIBLE. Sounds very much like what you described. I put anti-itch caladryl clear on it-- as well as took benadryl. The benadryl was a sanity saver. Eventually it went away, and I pray it won't be back. Sorry you have it to deal with!

jessb - October 1

Tara-Thats awesome you havent gained anything!! Congrats. Im sorry you got the rash again, that must really suck. I agree with you girls, I too have been really cranky. I think mostly its because Im TIRED. I feel like a hardly get any sleep at night, between tossing and turning and getting up to go pee.

ebaby08 - October 1

Tara - Im due the same day as you! Sorry to hear about your rash! But like much of the rest of you girls, i have been feeling moody and extra tired lately! Im sure it will only get worse before it gets better, but the count down is finally on!

clindholm - October 2

Tara- I hope your tests go well and you don't have PUPPPS again, the meds weren't able to control it last time? That is so awesome that you haven't gained, did your doctor give you a hard time about it? I have so much to do at home and zero time or energy and it's really stressing me out. Dh has been less than helpful lately. He has these spurts of ambition, then nothing. The baby's room is nowhere near ready. I just can't keep up with everything, I need a vacation! Ok, enough of my whining. Jess- I know what you mean about being tired, I just can't get a good nights sleep and there are just not enough hours in the day. micsmms- I forgot, when are you due? T his is your first, right? Ebaby- what about you, do you have any other lo's? Colleen

ebaby08 - October 2

No this is our first! We're so excited!

TaraO - October 2

ebaby - That's awesome - being due the same day - what are you having again- me a boy. Colleen - They didn't give me a hard time about the weight since I've already gained a total of 33 lbs., just nothing this month. I hope to hear something about the tests tomorrow. I am glad I got them over with. I feel the same way about having a ton of ambition and then not getting anything done. My husband helps when it is directly involving him. It seems the more I complain, the less I get from him. Here's a funny story for all of you - I teach 4th grade in a suburban school and I got hired about 8 years ago when I was 22. There were 5 of us hired the same year. We became really good friends, very quickly, Well we all got engaged the same year and set our dates to be married without each other knowing, during the same week in July. Well all 5 of us are pregnant as of today. I think my boss is going to have a stroke. We all teach different grades, thankfully and are due at different times. November, December, February, March, April. Thought that was funny!!!! Have a great night.

jessb - October 2

Tara-That is so funny-how weird!!!! Its great you will have a bunch of people to discuss baby and newborn pointers and tips!! We always say its something in the water at my work. There is always 2 or 3 people that are pregnant at the same time.

Hi all, my due date is 12/12. I had my US today to check growth and measurements... and they said that one of her kidneys is larger than the other. We were pretty scared when we heard that. They said that there is a chance from her position in the womb, that the measurement is showing as inaccurate. They want to do a follow up at 34 weeks. I asked what it is caused by and they said it's genetic- it is in our family history. Neither of us are aware of any kidney problems on either side of the family. They said that it could be cycsts making it enlarged- however the US didn't show any cysts. Research that i've done online says that it may be a blockage which will likely clear itself up before, or shortly after birth. They were very non-communicative at the US today- different doctors and US reader than we normally see. It was hard to ask alot of questions when we were there, as it was just a shock to hear something like that.
