There is something bad in everything - and its always 'studies show' this and that then a month later O wait now the studies show that is bad for you lol I think they just want to have one part to the news that is more of an attention grabber or something cause they always put that stuff on last too - like to make you watch the whole news

I remember people posting about "a new study shows it can cause an increase in miscarriage if you drink more than 2OO mg of caffine a day".....my doctor almost 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter told me no more than that and I even remember looking it up online and my pregnancy books saying the same thing. Hm there was just an ant on my laptop......I saw that one on my shower curtain about a week ago but I haven't seen anymore. I think I'll buy some traps just in case.

well gabby, just google BPA free baby bottles and you'll get all kinda of stuff... if you are worried about it. personally Im not sure how much I should worry about it, there are a million things that are "unsafe" or "unhealthy" that people will do or give to their kids every day.. heck there is a study that says hot dogs will give kids cancer.. hot dogs!! come on. anyway I got the playtex drop ins set as a shower gift and turns out the drop in liners are totally BPA free and safe so I lucked out I guess, no we just have to see if the baby likes them lol. anyway, I wouldnt freak out to much over it. besides its only harmful if you heat the bottle up... so just heat the water in a different container and transfer it to what ever bottle you want to use and it should be fine. also the BPA thing isnt limited to just baby bottles.. its anything food/drink containers... so sippy cups and bowls and all sorta of things as well. my personal opinion (which you may or may not agree with) dont stress about it, we have enough to worry about as new mothers, do what makes you feel most comfortable and what you think is best for you and your baby. and if you choose to use plastic bottles dont let anyone preach to you about the "chemicals you are putting into your babies body" or anything like that.. dont let anyone make you feel guilty anyway... thats my rant of the day lol I'll stop now :)

Kay, Im keeping my bottles too... gla__s bottles just dont seem practical.. they are heavy, they break... and like dawn said, every other week they are coming up with some new study on how something else is unsafe *rolls eyes* hot dogs.. seriously... they said hot dogs will give kids cancer... is that not one of the most ridiculous thing you have every heard. anyway lol.. hope you get all your stuff done soon, you might be having a baby is just a few days!!!

get this... ""The new report tested six major brands of plastic baby bottles available at major retailers, including Wal-Mart and Babies-R-Us, all leached BPA when heated. According to the study authors, these same levels of BPA caused a range of adverse effects in laboratory animals."" I think the real problem here is that they tested lab animals, we should write letter on how we dont think animals should be tested on! whos with me ;) also, the executive director of the American Plastics Council's Polycarbonate Business Unit said """The data that is presented has been known for years and, most importantly, data of that type has been reviewed by government agencies around the world in their comprehensive reviews on BPA and, in every case, they reach a conclusion even after considering this kind of data that polycarbonate baby bottles are safe for use."" anyway.. NOW Im done.

Yes they need to leave these poor animals alone ..I agree very much !

ha, dawn.. dont hold your breath on the rum thing lol.. they say wine might be okay because a gla__s of wine a day is actually supposed to be good for you, its full of antioxidants and all sorts of good things. wine I can understand the conflicting arguments... should it be okay, should it not.. that makes sense. but hot dogs.. that ill never make sense to me.

LOL it sounds like the lead in the lipstick thing.....like yes it's there but they leave out the fact the amount is considered safe and approved. Often these random little studies have a tendancy to be bias and reflect what the conductor wants them to. HAHA my husband finally does something and I'm sitting here watching him struggle just to open the BOX.

hahaa I know rum was wishful thinking haha I think anything that makes you happy should be good for you - including french fries and chocolate - Wait now i heard a NEW study showed dark chocolate can do wonders for you .. now we need that same thing for milk chocolate and we are golden!

Kay thats horrible lol he is sitting there struggling and has no clue your making fun of him online hahahaha I love it!! Well the box is the hardest part especially when they are stapled, glued and taped LOL got to love that haha
I think I will have to put my own crib together cause I dont want that jerk doing anything for me
|
|
|
|

Well the thing is he only slit the tape at the top of the box and was trying to pull everything like that.....well the box has tape running right down the middle of the entire thing so all you have to do is slit and, open, and lift the stuff out. I've never seen him put anything together, so I think I'm gonna sit here till he's done. I want the crib in our room right now.....it doesn't mean he has to put it together in here though lol there's not a lot of room to be spreading the pieces all over like that.

dawn, I heard that about dark chocolate too, yum.... I love chocolate milk too, lately I have been drinking chocolate soy milk or chocolate organic milk, Im not really sure why lol I think its because I can trick myself into thinking its good for me even though its chocolate hehe. Kay, you are right about the studies.. they are dont by people with motives other than "to warn the public" they are trying to accomplish something that Im sure wil ultimately lead to personal gain. thats one of the reasons I dont buy in to stuff like this with our doning a little research of my own first. the poeple with the plastics a__sociation or whatever are saying that they very very low levels of the chemical and even then the bottles have to be heated up to a certain point to release it and even then its unlikely that anyone develop problems because of it.... thats a lot of 'ifs' and variables that the study conductors didnt want us to know about.

this pretty much says it all.... """The Food and Drug Administration, which approved the bottles, agrees and says it is "reviewing BPA's safety," and maintains that its "adverse effects occur in animals only when they are exposed to far higher levels of the chemical than possible from a baby bottle."
BPA is already in most of us: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found BPA in the urine of 95 percent of people it tested. """
so according to the people who did the study based on what the center for disease control and prevention said, women who b___stfeed are at risk of pa__sing on BPA to their babies? .... *rolls eyes* Im so done with this BPA stuff.
