Hi Girls...it's been a long time. I've been pretty busy lately and then I went to Florida for a week for our March Break. I just thought I would update you all on my situation. The good news is that I haven't had any more bleeding since Feb 8th. The bad news is that I went to see an obstetrician for a second opinion and she seemed to think that I have a small abruption (placenta detaching from the uterus). The big risk with an abruption is preterm labor, so they gave me two injections of Celestone which is a corticosteroid that helps the baby's lungs develop faster so that if I do deliver early, the baby will have a better chance at surviving. I have been feeling pretty good lately and I have been very careful not to do anything strenuous because I don't want another bleeding episode. Baby is very active which keeps me positive and I will feel better once I make it to 28 weeks because there is a good chance of survival after that. I am 27 weeks tomorrow, so one more week to go! I hope you have all been well and I will check in again soon.

UGH! I thought I was doing so well! First I sign up for my ultrasound which was supposed to be at 140 and they check me in and send me back to a room......my doctor comes in and talks to me for a few minutes and my glucose test was good but my iron was a little low so she gave me a prescription for an iron supplement and said I only need to take it every other day. My tummy was measuring 33 weeks LOL I'm such a little fat girl, gained 30 pounds so far. She starts flipping through my chart and ask where my ultrasound and nst are and I told her they just sent me back here and she's like ok no.....let's get ya over there to have that done then come back and see me. Since they skipped over me I ended up waiting about an hour for my ultrasound and everything looks good. I got to see my little guy do some practice breathing, he's still measuring two weeks ahead and is 3 pounds 6 ounces AWESOME for his age. I didn't get any really good pictures of his face, there's a lot of stuff in the way but from what I watched I'm almost positive he has his daddy's lips. So next I go for my NST and magically my contractions start back up every 2-3 minutes while I'm on there. I went back to the waiting room to wait to see my doctor again and they actually ended up sending me back over to labor and delivery so they could keep me on the monitor. I kept having the contractions every few minutes, I was watching the numbers and when I went in on thursday they were peaking around 35-40 and today I had some that went up to 60. They were getting pretty d__n uncomfortable. They checked my cervix and it's still closed, then they gave me another one of my procardia pills to see how I'd react. It helped right away so they want me taking it three times a day now which sucks because it makes me feel c___ppy at first. I was freekin starving and I had the best nurse. She asked if I wanted some crackers and peanut b___ter and I guess they were bringing the dinner trays around and there was one left over so she brought it in to me. Hospital food is so gross but I didn't mind because I had been there since 1 and it was 6pm. I was there for 6 freekin hours between my appointment and labor and delivery. I got home and layed down for a while and was fine, they started again every few minutes for half an hour, and now they stopped again. Freekin pain in the a__s. I have to call tomorrow because I never got to set up my next appointment and the doctor on call mentioned seeing me later in the week. He was the d__n one I don't like too, not very personable.

wow seems like everyone was waiting around a doctors office today! Well at least everything is ok afterall. I was going to skip my appt but I guess I am glad I went so I got it over with- Now my appointments start every two weeks she said - so I am back there on the 31st. Oh I forgot to mention I lost 3 lbs haha figured that would happen though because I wasn't eating more then a meal a day for the last week and then the move and everything else. But I am sure I will catch up haha and I was sitting on sofa a lil while ago and she started kicking alot you could see my stomach jumping .. that was awesome ! I guess the last few days she slowed down cause I was so busy. I did paint the hall today so now I am just about finished - tomorrow I am just touching up around the stairs where the new carpet it cause the old carpet was fluffier and it left this space I need to paint going up the stairs. Oh and chastidys dad came over and put my curtains up ! yea! I can walk around nude again haha I didnt cook tonight But I will be tomorrow I cannot wait! then thursday I am making me and chastidy shrimp scampi ... I decided to wait cause thursday she has off of school for easter vacation so I will be able to start preparing it and not stop to go pick her up. O Kay ! I meant to tell you I got this letter today from the a__sistance office saying they denied me medicaid then I got a letter from Health choices telling me I was eligible - so I guess thats what you were saying .. NOW i have that other case I just opened in the other county haha I should have left it alone - o well .. either way I am sure they can xfer it or one will pick up when the other drops off. Ok well I am off i am getting hungry so I am going to go to sleep ..if i eat now i wont be able to sleep for another 4 hours so I am going to hurry to bed before it becomes painful! night!

Get some rest dawn, sounds like you need it! I have the alarm on my phone set for 8am, 4pm, and 12am so I can take my meds which I know is going to interupt my sleep pattern (not that I've had one lately) I get a funny feeling I'm gonna be sitting on my b___t a lot longer than 2 weeks. It's really nice to see some of you guys back and know you're doing well. So they gave you the b___t cramp shots too deb? LOL I'm sure you know what I mean by that. 28 weeks is a HUGE marker because if you hit that yes, you'll end up with a NICU baby but they'll be ok (the ones that aren't usually have another problem like a heart defect or something else previously diagnosed). ma - I had bh before that I never really felt. I would feel tightening here and there before but the contractions I have now are VERY noticible. My stomach clenches up like a hard giant ball, it's really uncomfortable, kinda crampy, hurts some, and are very regular. You might not notice if you get just one here or there, but if they start coming close together and stronger I'm sure you'll notice. They pretty much told me I just might contract the whole rest of my pregnancy and be in and out of there all the time, then end up delivering full term. There's something called an irritable uterus where you contract, but they aren't cervix changing contractions.......you're body just wants to be evil and put you in unnecissary pain lol. Sorry you were stuck at the dr all day too disko, it gets so borning just sitting there. I used to be on depo and it worked great for me. I had some spotting with it on and off at first, then I'd just spot for maybe 2 days rather than get my period. I was on that for 2 years and went right back to normal as soon as I got off it. It's very stress free birth control.

kay101 - March 17

Oh and I forget disko, yes I had a c-section and I'm having another. It wasn't bad. It's a little wierd because you can feel pressure and pulling (not pain at all) but they distract you while they're doing it. I deffinately wouldn't say it was painful afterwards (and that's coming from a person that doesn't have a high tolerance level for pain),just pretty sore the first day. I was walking around just fine by the time I left the hospital and felt completely back to normal in a week. I wasn't about to go walk a marathon but I could get around the house and run some errands just fine.

kay101 - March 17

Lovely, they told me I could take 2 flinstones vitamins because they prenatals made me gag.....guess what flinstones vitamins don't have.....IRON. No wonder why mine was a little low.

fefer1 - March 18

kay - I was taking the flinstones too - and my iron is REALLY low. I started back on the prenatals and am eating lots of red meat and OJ. :) My DH left this morning for a week - he's in St Louis until Friday night. :( I'm all alone with the munchkin. I hate being home by myself - every noise freaks me out. Especially the cat that gets into everything. Well I'm 29 weeks and 1 day, so technically I'm in a fairly safe part of my pregnancy. Yay. Can't wait to get to 40 though - or close to it. The other night I woke up with stomach cramps so I jumped up and went to the bathroom thinking I just had to pee. I laid in bed for a while dreaming I was having contractions - and maybe I was - because I felt that way every few minutes for a while. It eventually went away thank goodness - but it freaked me out. This was right after I spent all night/morning with my friend who had her baby. My little guy has been very active lately too - my stomach is starting to get all distorted when he moves. So take it easy DEB!!!! I'm glad everyone here seems to be doing ok despite all our issues. It makes me realize how risky pregnancies really are and how glad I am to be living today instead of 100 years ago!

gabby509 - March 18

Morning girls. Today is definitely going to be a nightmare for me, I can alraedy see it. Fred called me this morning to wake me up because there's some huge traffic problem by my house. So I got up and looked outside and all the surrounding streets by my house are like a parking lot. Tractor trailers, tons of cars, and tons of cops. Here I-95 has a crack in it and they shut it down like right at my exit. So now all the cars are going down the main road right next to my street. My boss called and was like yeah you should probably leave a little early today to pick up the kids. I hate traffic, and I especially hate sitting in it. Anyways, Kay I'm sorry your contractions came back. And Dawn you're a little stinker getting that shamrock shake. I'm jealous. I'm gonna get one today, since it's the last day for them. And Disko, I was also on the depo shot and I loved it. I actually only started taking it because it is progesterone instead of estrogen and I was getting bad migraines when I was on the pill. The only thing I would tell you is that be careful when she goes off of it. I didn't even get a period before I ended up pregnant. My doctor said that I wouldn't be fertile until I got my first period after stopping the shot, but I obviously was fertile, look at me now. I think it's hard too after you go off of that because you don't really know when you're supposed to get a period, since mine had completely stopped when i was on it, which was awesome. I'm sitting here eating rice pudding and it is so good. And you know what, I don;t know what a contraction feels like but I think I may have had one yesterday. I got one of those Braxton Hicks and it was a little painful, I'm not sure if it was because I had to pee though. And I only got one. The Braxton Hicks continues through the night very sporadically, but they weren't painful. I think I may just be getting nervous because some of you guys are going through stuff. You know like I said before, I'm a big hypocondriac, I always think that if something happens to someone that its gonna happen to me too. I'm like my own worst enemy.

gabby509 - March 18

Kay, I didn't mean to make you think you were scaring me. I'm just paranoid about everything. Even if you weren'tgoing through this, I'd probably still be worried about it. haha. But I can't imagine how you must feel not being aboe to do the things you normally do. I'm like you, I go grocery shopping, and usually the rest of the errands also, just because I know what to get. Fred always screws it up, haha. He called me the other day and asked if I wanted him to go to Walmart for me and I was like NO, I'll do it. And 4 BH an hour are ok. Wow I didn't know that, that makes me feel alot better. I usually only get like 1 every 2 or 3 hours if I'm on my feet alot. But I laid down last night after that 1 contraction and I felt tons better. Then my MIL was ha__sling me about not taking a birthing cla__s. She made me think that I'm gonna be totally lost without it. I just didn't feel the need to take one, I've been to teh hospital I'm delivering at about 10 times and my uncle is head of obstetrics and gynecology there, so I'm sure I'll figure it out once I go in. And plus my sister had both her babies there. Ok well I gotta venture out inot this horrendous traffic to go to work. Be back later.

ma1008 - March 18

Morning girls, Kay we do that here at work when someone wants to pick up a check for someone else. covers their b___ts to have something in writing. a few weeks ago we had one guys wife come in to pick up his check cause he had gone home sick and she didn't have one so i told her she couldn't have it unless she brought a note and she said she would come back then, and a few seconds later her husband came in to pick up his check. Hellooo why send your wife in when your out in the car.... anyway good luck with the traffic Gabby. i feel so uncomfortable today, like a have weights from the chest to th bottom of my belly. makes me feel so tired.

kay101 - March 18

I do the same thing when I read about something happening to somebody and then of course I google it and the symptoms are so broad they could fit anybody. Even if you start having more of them they want you first to try getting off your feet and drinking a bunch of water since dehydration is the main cause of frequent bh. I think my belly has turned into a camel hump because I drink so much water lol I took a birthing cla__s and it really didn't teach me much I didn't already know.

disko love - March 18

good morning. ugh. i'm so friggin' sick. :o( this sucks the big one. i swear my head feels like a super heavy basketball! and nothing is working... sudafed = nope and benadryl = nope.... waaah. thanks kay for the c-section insight. i actually have a pretty high tolerance for pain so i think that my biggest fear was that of the unknown. but you have def put my mind at ease. so kay.... when you were pregnant with your daughter did you have similar symptoms? like did you have contractions like the ones you are having now throughout your last pregnancy? or is this one just totally and completely different? all of my previous pregnancies have been really quite uneventful and pretty easy going. now this one ... i am now considered 'high risk' which is totally new to me... and i've got tons of new stuff to be worried about. but when i was visiting with the 'high risk' doctor she asked me about my bh contractions and i told her that i get them often (as with my previous pregnancies) and she also told me that up to four in one hour was okay anything more frequent i should go to ER. oh and marisol.... i got your pictures and you are gorgeous!!! what a doll your daughter is! way too cute. i'll be sending you some pics your way.... ttyl

kay101 - March 18

Nope, my daughter was super easy with no problems. No contractions, I had to be induced at 41 weeks because she didn't wanna come out. I thought planning a baby and pregnancy this time would be such a beautiful thing since it was so easy last time and now I have my husband but noooooo!

gabby509 - March 18

Ok so I just got to work, and I only live 20 mins away. It took an hour. And some tractor trailer had sideswiped 4 cars on my block and caused major damage. The worst part is that he drove away. So nobody got the license plate, they just heard the huge bang and then saw a truck about 50 ft away. Glad it wasn't my car. Well anyways, yeah I notice if I don't drink enough I get more BH. Ma, I asked my teacher this morning about your situation and she said basically what Kay said. Just to monitor your fetal movement very carefully, stay hydrated, try not to do too much walking or heavy lifting, and if you start to feel lots of BH then you should get checked out. We haven't gotten into the prenatal rotation yet, we're still learning about different meds. Also is it wierd that King is always hanging out on the right side of my belly. He is barely ever on the left side. Like I'll sometimes push him over to the left side, and he'll go back to the right almost immediately. I'm wondering if I have a tilted uterus or something. And also just like yesterday he's been hanging out half under my ribs and half one my side into my back. Little stinker. I wish Newlywed would come over, but I understand why she is staying on teh 2nd tri board. I think she's supersticious like me. When I registered I used Fred's last name instead of mine because we are basically married, adn my mom was like Oh God That's bad luck! So she made me think about it.

eastcoast - March 18

Hey girlies! I finally found you...over here on the 3rd tri -can you believe it?! I've been having a yucky past few days -I'm sleeping almost all the time (still) and now the dizziness/fainting seems to have been replaced with a headache that starts every morning by 4am over my left eye and lasts almost all day -uggh. I haven't had a chance to read all the posts yet (here or on the 2nd tri board), but I hope that everyone is doing well. I did see someone mention something about the birthing cla__ses....I'm not sure if they're the same as the pre-natal cla__ses here, but dh and I are taking them and I can honestly say that I haven't been to one cla__s yet where I haven't learned something. Oh and here's a visual for you....last night at the cla__s on b___stfeeding, while playing a cd where the chorus of the song was 'b___st is best, b___st is best', the nurse whipped out a fake strap-on b___b and cabbage patch doll, and we all got to practice different holds/positions for b___stfeeding -it was fine because this we're all pretty comfortable with each other now, but it was hilarious -especially that song...I can't remember the words (talked about the benefits of b___stfeeding), but dh (along with most of us) had tears streaming down his face he was laughing so hard.

gabby509 - March 18

Sorry Disko that you feel so c___ppy. Hopefully it will pa__s before Easter. I can't wait to eat lots and lots of Ham and deviled eggs.
