ACG - February 8

Man, there's not a lot of action on here today! I all of a sudden got in a really irritable mood about an hour ago - no reason, just out of nowhere started feeling REALLY annoyed about everything. I guess that's the hormones, or at least I hope it is! I walked on the treadmill, and it made me feel a little less like scratching everyone's eyes out. Monday, I'm supposed to go walk with a girl I met in yoga. She said she normally goes 3 miles, and I haven't walked 3 miles in at least 3 weeks, so I'm a bit nervous about keeping up. Okay, enough rambling for me. Happy Friday, everyone. - April

Wow you girls were busy today. I forwarded all the photos. Val, I think I got you caught up with all the bellies that have been flying around lately and I sent all the pics Monica and Robyn sent. Yikes! Lots of photos. Anyway, yeah I feel ya on the bruised feeling Robyn. Not pleasant at all. I've only had a few of the shooting pains but enough that I know I don't like them, heh heh. Congratulations on the progression Melissa! Baby will be here before you know it. And Erica, I didn't see cobwebs either. Lol. Never would've known. Kristin, you're a lucky duck with no GBS test. My midwife has to do it because the state requires it. I've been able to sign a waiver for most things, though, which is nice, like the blood draw once I go into labor to make sure I still haven't contracted syphilis and HIV from my husband (even though we were both virgins when we got married). I mean, really, I don't want you trying to get blood out of my arm when I'm in labor-- it ain't happening. So sign the waiver I did. Anyway I am way tired and have to get up at a decent hour tomorrow for our next birthing cla__s. Have a good weekend everybody!

BAF - February 9

Monica, The twins are beautiful! Congrats and blessings to Shelby for a speedy recovery!! I know you are so proud so rest up and enjoy the babies. Can't wait to see who's next. I had my 36wk checkup yesterday and had my GBS test. Now just have to wait until Thursday to get my results & see if I've started dialating. My husband has learned he may need to be out of town right around my due date so I discussed inducing a litle early with my Dr yesterday. She said we'd just have to wait & see how I'm progressing but if things go ok, we might be able to go ahead & induce at 39 weeks. But I have started talking to Little Ford about coming early on his own anyway. Robyn, what is your c section date? April, I've had the same shooting pains. My Dr said it's just the baby putting pressure on the cervix. But I've had a few times I said "Ouch" outloud & it startled me! We have our 2nd shower tonight, a couples shower at a friend's house. Can't wait to see what goodies we get. Question for everyone: has anyone bought their nursing bra yet? I have not but need to get that done. The nurse at my Dr office suggested I go to Motherhood Maternity & get fitted. But the ones I've seen there are so ugly! Is there anywhere to get a "pretty" nursing bra? Hope everyone has a great weekend. Blessings to all Mommies & Babies!

Oh man here come the gripes. I am soooo very upset with my midwife. We drove 45 minutes to the birthing center today for our birthing cla__s. Which also means we got up earlier than we would like to and all that good stuff. We get there and meet up with the other girl in my cla__s and we wait for the midwife to get there. And wait. Finally when she hasn't shown up and is 30 minutes late we call her and she says she is in a birth and has been since yesterday and just forgot it was Saturday. Well fine, but do I get my money back? Geez! Diesel is expensive (we have a diesel car). Anyway, Brandy, Expressiva dot com has a really comfortable looking bra that isn't totally ugly and has great reviews. Also they have really pretty nursing gowns. Mimimaternity dot com has a pretty good selection of nursing bra styles too. Motherhood has a ton more styles online, too. Barenecessities dot com is a good site too. As for in-store, I agree-- they are ugly!! I hope you can get your induction date that you need to have DH there! I have been talking to Claire about coming early, too. We'll see if she listens to Mommy... Anyway enjoy your weekend everybody!

Hello everyone. This is going to be short, so my apologies. I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind feedback regarding myself and the twins. I also wanted to say that I did receive Sarah's emails in regards to everyone's belly pics!! WONDERFUL BELLIES!!! Thank you for sharing with me. I am tired, but last night seemed to be better than the last. I guess that means, Shane is finally falling into a pattern. Yup, you know what that means, right?? When Shelby joins the mix, all will be mixed up again!! HAHAHA.....the joys of twins. ROBYN, thank you for everything my dear. You are a wonderful friend and I love you dearly!!! BRANDY I saw your note about talking to Ford about coming earlier. Those are the same conversations I had with the twins!! LOL, too funny. Tell Ford that early is okay as long as he is okay with that!! LOL....................good luck ladies and I promise to try to read up as much as I can so that I can post more often. I keep all you ladies in my prayers!!

Astra - February 10

Hi Ladies, hope you are al well. Sarah, that sucks about your cla__s, that is so rude that she didn't even call...yesterday I joined you in having the runs...it's so frustrating trying to figure out if I ate something that didn't agree with me, it may be too much dairy, this pregnancy is messing with my lactose tolerence...sorry if all this is tmi Otherwise I was cleaning out some old files and found some kindergarten cla__s photos of my hubbie, I tried to guess which one he is but he had to help me. He was such a cutie!!!

BAF - February 10

Sarah, thanks for the info. I went ahead & bought a plain one at Motherhood Maternity and also got one to sleep in that is so comfortable. I finally packed my bag today so I am officially ready at any time! Monica, so glad things are settling down for you. Keep us updated on Shelby. Robyn, guess you're next unless one of us regulars beats you to the hospital. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday & upcoming week. With each day, we're getting closer & closer! So exciting!

cayingo - February 10

MONICA- I'm glad to hear you and Shane are settling into some sort of routine, but I bet you are right about starting againonce Shelby gets home. Oh well...take it one day at a time. Bummer about your cla__s SARAH. I know it's not a whole lot of comfort, but try to put yourself in the other couples' shoes. If YOU were the one in labor you'd want, and deserve, your midwife's undivided attention. :) As for me...Friday was my faculty shower after school it was great. Lot's of funstuff, food, and friends. BUT the best part was my sweet cla__ses. While I was outside on recess duty 7 of their moms snuck into my room and decorated for a surprise shower for me. There was lots of yummy food, great gifts, and the kids played a taste-testing baby food game that was hilareous to watch. My fave gift was asc___p book my room mom made of all 35 kids' advise to me about how to take care of Reece. Soooo cute!!!!

sarah21 - February 10

Melissa, thanks for the perspective on the whole thing. I do respect that she gives the births her undivided attention, I'm just frustrated because it's twice now that they've failed to tell me plans have changed. And the first time wasn't even because of something important like a birth, I was just missed on the to-call list. Oh well. Now I'll just be 39 weeks 6 days when I finish my last birthing cla__s...if another isn't canceled. Sigh. Okay done with my pity party. On the upside I made a major milestone today: I FINISHED MUDDING THE BATHROOM! Yes, it took me this long since I couldn't get DH to help and I can only do so much at a time. I am so proud of myself. I will get it painted this week, then lay down the tile and then FINALLY I can demo the nursery and get it going. Ambitious? Yes. But I am so full of energy during the day it feels good to have something to look forward to doing and keeping busy with. And today my pastor's wife, who is also a good friend of mine, showed me the invitations she made for my baby shower that she is hosting and they are absolutely beautiful! I was almost surprised and how nice they were. She is one of those stampers so she has all the cool paper and stamps and skill. So cute. Monica!! Good to hear from you! Glad to hear Shane is letting you get a little rest before Shelby comes and messes stuff up. Hehe. They are absolutely precious and adorable. Astra, I can't imagine being lactose-intolerant. I LOOOVVVEE all things milk. Cheese, yogurt, milk, ice cream, sour cream, all of it. I live on milk and milk products. I have been known to make breakfast out of a gigantic gla__s of milk. Hopefully you figure out what is causing you runs and can get back to normal. Melissa, I bet that sc___pbook is adorable. What a priceless gift! Kids are so amazing (and hilarious). I was talking to my sister-in-law and my four year old niece had taken a permanent marker to her dog that day... gotta wonder what went through her mind at the moment she began drawing on a dog...

Rainbowbrite - February 11

Hello ladies! Monica- congratulations on the twins!!! I saw their pics and they are just wonderful!!!! so precious!!!! I usually wait and check all email and get on the forum until i am at work but i couldn't wait and had to check them all on my cell phone while at home. We have a computer but i don't get on it much... plus it is not the greatest.. We did go buy a new laptop this weekend but it was one of them weekends where it seemed like we did nothing but shop and run errands... and i had my baby shower on saturday which was great!!! Now this weekend my goal is to get her nursery completely set up and ready for her!!! I set Sarah some belly shots of mine... I took them this morning and i am 34w 4days... so be watching for those! These will be the first pics you'll have seen of my belly... don't be scared! Actually i get told i'm really small... or i don't look like i'm due next month but still... going from starting point to now it is a big difference for my own self! LOL How is everyone else's week starting off??? How are you doing Robyn??? How is the bp? Everyone else- any new symptoms? Any one volunteering to be the next to have their baby?? =) Take care!

sarah21 - February 11

Good morning girls. I pa__sed along K2's cute belly pics to y'all. Try not to choke when you see how cute and tiny her belly is, lol. Lucky duck... I had the weirdest dream last night. I had no pain whatsoever but all of the sudden I felt Claire's leg dangling outside and her arm was there also (don't know how that worked) and my shirt was covering it. I showed my mom and she was like, "Well lift up your shirt and let's see what her leg looks like!" and it was so cute and plump. so then I decided I probably needed to go to the midwife to see if I was in labor or something. So I got there and they were swamped and I apologized for just showing up but was I in labor? And they were like "Oh yeah you're in labor. We'll get the birthing tub ready." I got in the tub and it was so deep and wonderful and then I had a couple contractions that were hard to talk through (I was on the phone telling my mom I was really in labor). But then I thought, "Nothing is happening, I need to get up and move around and get this baby out!" I was all excited and told DH we were going to have a baby that night. By this time the leg and arm were back up inside and I wasn't having any contractions so I just went home disappointed. Lol! How crazy is that? Whew wacky dreams. Anyway, I think Robyn or Mel is next for birth dates. I can't remember when Mel's c-section is scheduled for but it's sometime this month. My poor dog has fleas back already since it's been so warm. He is allergic to them so he gets one bite and it sets him off itching all the time. I mean, all the time. He walks under our coffee table and uses it to scratch his back. It drives me insane. I need to get him to the vet but since DH has our only car I can't take him. Sigh. He's just gonna have to come home early tomorrow instead of staying late to study and take the poor dog. Well I better go unload the dishwasher and get some stuff done.

Good morning all! Monica-congrats on the delivery of the twins. I am so excited for you and your husband. Where do I go to see the pics? I am doing well. I will be 37 weeks this Wednesday. Mattie is 6 pounds 12 ounces and Hailey is about 6 pounds 2 ounces. I am all belly but so very uncomfortable! Thank goodness I am 5'10 so there is lots of room for the babies to grow. My c section is scheduled for Feb. 21st. but my doctors feel it could be any time now. I am dilated 2cm and once I get to 4-6cm they will do the c section. Robyn, when is your c section scheduled for?

sarah21 - February 11

Jan, if you want to e-mail me at ilbagel at gmail dot com I will e-mail you the pics from Monica.

Question - February 11

So has anyone else noticed that it's easier to breathe these days? I just noticed that the past couple days I haven't been short of breath and when I lay down at night, I am a lot more comfortable than before and it's no longer impossible to get my lungs full of air. Perhaps Claire has dropped already? That would be nice. Just a thought...
