okay so here is the story, My husband is getting deployed in two weeks so I will be going to Arizona (we live in Texas) to stay with my mom... since day one of the pregnancy I have been at a military hospital so I have a few questions about making the switch to a civilian hospital. does anyone know if I need anything more than my Dependant ID to prove that I have insurance? do I need to get an insurance card or anything?? this is my first pregnancy and I really don't know anything about this lol.. ANY info would be greatly appreciated. I do plan to ask the doc at my next (and last) appointment before going to Arizona but I figure it would be easier to get info from elsewhere so I know what to ask for and acquire before I leave. thanks!

Hey Heather. My husband is also in the Armed Forces. Your ID card is all you need for insurance info. It has his social security number on it and that is what is used as the claim number. Tricare will only cover certain doctors. Are you moving somewhere with a military base near by? If so, you can go into the medical office and they should have a list of doctors that are covered. Otherwise try calling the Tricare directly and ask then what you need to do or if they have a list of doctors that are available. I see a civilian doctor as well. I prefer civilians over military to be honest. GL and I hope this is somewhat helpful. OH and also go to the Tricare office there on the base you are at and they might be able to help you too.
