Well, I read all of these comments about the tea this morning and I decided to go out to GNC about an hour ago and buy some. As I was buying the tea, the lady asked when I was due. I said " Sept 8, but they said something about inducing my labor before the 31rst. Simply because my baby weighs 7lbs now, and my cervix hasnt thinned or soften." She then litterally went off on me! Why would you want to try to put your self in labor? Why such a risk? Why dont you want to have her natural and wait till she is suppose to come, and do something like this! I was like lady, hold on, the way I take it, it is suppose to help me with an easy labor. She pretty much said I was stupid for listening to such tales about easy labor, and how I would regret this if I did. I purchased my tea and then she said I would recommend you just drink one gla__s, per day. Oh I was so mad! And shes like the manager there! Anyways.. I just wanted to share this news with you guys and I just drank my first gla__s of tea. ..

how weird Sara, you would think she would know a bit more about it, being the manager and all! The bit about it bringing labour on is such an old wives tale, every website I have found has said that it won't bring labour on, and that unless you have a risk of miscarriage it is safe to drink right through pregnancy (not that I personally would, it's kinda expensive). Lucky for you, you knew what you went in there to get, and didn't listen to her. Perhaps she was going to try and sell you something else as a "safe" subst_tute for 3 times the price!

hi sarah. what a cow that manager sounds! twist is right.... there is no evidence that RLT will bring on early labour. instead it is supposed to "tone" the uterus to make delivery easier and quicker. from my reading on the internet, i believe there have only been two scientific studies done, both in sydney, australia. one of the studies covered 192 women, half of whom started drinking the tea/taking tablets at 32 weeks and the other half who took a placebo. the half who took the RLT had shorter labours by an average of only 10 minutes, but had reduced a__sisted delivery (foreceps etc). i am 33.5 weeks and started drinking the tea at 32 weeks (3 cups per day). as long as it doesn't cause cramping or diaorreah, nausea, dizziness or other obvious symptoms, my midwive agrees it is safe and can help with an easier labour. she also said the tea comes in varying dosages (some strong batches, some weak) so it's possibly better to take the tablets for even dosage. but i like the taste of the tea so i will keep drinking it until i finish the boxes i bought and then switch to the tablets. hope this helps.

Hey, its me again. Well, Ill be 39 weeks tomorrow. And Im drinking 2 gla__ses of tea per day. I mixed it with sum juicy juice mango, haha, it taste really g00d that way. But, i started drinking it on August 21, and the 26th I went to the doctor and my cervix was finally thinning out. So, I believe this tea actually helped.

I bought the tea a week ago (at 37 1/2 weeks) and had a cup... that night I found myself having diarrea. Anyone else experience this? I don't usually drink tea. Well, I gave myself a break and stayed clear of the tea for a week...planning to try it again this weekend.
