Hi girls. Im veering towards the cloth nappy route to try and save some money and help the environment, but this is my first baby and first experience and would love some thoughts and feedback from anyone whos tried either or both and the benefits etc. It would help me make a decision which way to go! Thanks in advance x x

I am going the cloth route as well. However, I have decided to use eco-friendly disposables for the first 6 weeks since they go so often and I will need more time with the baby then doing laundry. At 6 weeks we are going to cloth and then implementing elimination communication. My sister did it with her son and she has saved so much time on cleaning diapers...
good luck
oh, and as for eco-friendly diapers, we are using 7th generation and whole foods brands.

Hey Miss P, I did disposables with my son because I was overwhelmed him being my first and I was alone (dh was away first 6 months) but I am a bit of a tree hugger so this time around I am doing cloth. I decided on prefolds with diaper covers (thirsties brand). I only bought new born size covers to start out so that if I dont like the thirsties brand I can try something new when he goes up a size. I have lots of friends that use fuzzi bunz all in one diapers and love them but they were a little too expensive for me. Also, remember, if you are going to b___stfeed than there is no pre rinsing. Store them in a dry bucket until you wash and just throw them in the washer!

Hi Miss P, I was going to do cloth diapers but dh was like no way, he is squimish so if disposables gets him to help me so be it. But a friend suggested Bum genius by cotton babies. Those gotta be the best cloth ones I have seen. Check em out.

I did cloth and well kinda still do. I made my own and used diaper covers, theres quite a few patterns free online that work well. I also did infant potty training starting at 6 months. Right now shes 14 months and in panties with a diaper cover or a pull up when we run out. We really don't go thru many changes a day anymore and if I'd take her potty a little more often we may not go thru any. I'm having issues now tho so we're just relaxing lately. But when she was little they go thru them much faster. I never presoaked or rinsed, I just dumped the lumps (lol) and washed 1 load a day or every other day at some points. Little tips: lay diapers in the sun to get rid of stains, don't dry diaper covers in the dryer (unless its just fluff) as it can wear them down fast and cause wicking a lot sooner I always just set them on top and let them air dry, I mean they dry so fast anyways. I honestly tried a few AIO's but they wicked faster and they took forever to dry so I'm pretty content with the covers. Good luck!
