Lchan that's scary! How did you allergy start? What made you realize it was a peanut allergy? I don't give Carlie anything with peanuts or peanut b___ter in it. My mom gave her part of a Reese Cup one day and I about flipped! LOL! Her ped is very leniant on things. He gave me the "no restrictions" go ahead at 9 months, except for peanuts. He said wait on them. It's amazing to me how many allergies and asthma there are now. I remember as a child that the one kid with asthma or allergies was the "weird" one and always treated with kid gloves. LOL! Now everybody is allergic to something. :O}

I don't know exactly when my allergy started but I realized it as a freshman in high school. A friend and I shared a bag of M&M peanuts and I could feel my throat tighten, my lips suddenly became swollen, and a rash covered my entire body. In hindsight I realized that I had gotten a sore throat or my skin had been itchy (but not red and blotchy) after eating something peanutty for probably the past year or so.

my son started eating PB sandwiches around 10 months old. If there's no family history of peanut allergies, I'm sure he'd be okay. I limit his jelly though, cause all the sugar gives him the runs

If you're not comfortable with the paenut products just yet ...a good altermative is "soy b___ter". There is a brand called "I am Healthy" that looks and tastes just like peanut b___ter, but it's made with soy beans and not a single peanut.
