I am also at 6 weeks today and have also gained 6 lbs! wow is this weird or what. I'm having vivid dreams of twins. When do you go for an U/S? I don't even meet with the doc until the 17th of this month.

I'm 6 weeks (as of last Tuesday) and found out that I'm having twins. I've gained 8 pounds and am showing like I'm 4 months along.

lori, did you feel different. like did you have pain or just felt like you were going to have twins.

Erica - Well, as this is my 4th pregnancy, things were a little different. My b___bs were and are extremely sore (worse than ever), I am beyond exhaustion, and I started wearing maternity clothes a week after I found out I was pregnant. I've been saying I thought it might be twins, but I don't know if I really believed it until the doctor said. I have to admit, I'm extremely nervous as I have a heart condition and I'm so worried about the babies. I've heard so many stories, it really scares me.

Lori, mind if i ask if you were slim before you became pregnant with twins? This is my 3rd pregnancy, I am only 6 weeks and already look like 5 months! I have gained 7 lbs so far. I am a meduim frame, not thin or not fat. Think i could be carrying twins?

Tara- Well, I was a size 6. I'm 5'5" and weighed about 140 pounds - a lot of muscle weight. As of now I've gained 10 pounds and I'm 9 weeks. I noticed right away that I got big so fast. I would say it is a definant possibility. I'm not growing near as fast now, as I seem to have slowed down a bit. When do you go to the doctor?

Lori- wow..... well, I go to my 2nd appt on July 14th in my 10th week but the last appt, they did v____al ultrasound and they saw the sac but couldn't find the baby, they said the baby was too tiny to notice. Maybe I am just FAT! lol

Lori- me again..... you know how baby look like in the very begnning of pregnancy right? looks like a grain of rice ... well, i just looked at my ultrasound pic ( i havent really looked at it since my last appt) and it looks like it has 2 "rices" in a sac but the dr told me she couldnt find the baby?? they already showed me the yolk sac and everything looked round but i see 2 "rices" in the pic?? what is that? are ur twins in separated sacs or in 1 sac? when did u first noticed the twins?

Tara- How far along are you again? When I had my first ultrasound they didn't see anything in the sac. Then when I had my second ultrasound 2 weeks later, they saw two sacs each with a baby and each with a heartbeat. So, I'd give it a little while and see what they see at your next appointment. Sometimes just a week can make a big difference.
