If you don't get the hcg shot and you have 4 or more follicles, could you release more than one egg? I guess what i'm trying to ask is.. Is it only the most mature follicle that releases or could all four of them release w/o the shot??

The trigger shot should make you ovulate all of the eggs if mature enough.

Hi Lauren. I was not on clomid...and only had two mature follicles...but am now 12 1/2 weeks pregnant with quintuplets! Technically, medical science would state that only the mature follicles release eggs....however, that is not always the case...obviously by me. The trigger shot induces ovulation...which should release only the mature eggs...if given at the proper time. As far as without the shot, you could still release all of them. The shot just insures that you will. Anything is possible.
Best of luck to you:)
