I am just wondering if there are any twins out there, fraternal or identical that have had twins themselves naturally. I am a fraternal twin and I will find out if I am having twins in 3 weeks. My dr said I had high levels of something and she has a hunch.

Hi, I am 28 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins. I am an identical twin and my husband is a fraternal twin. We have always wanted twins and we are ecstatic that we have been lucky enough to fall pregnant with twins first time!!
We did eat a lot of yams as well though, which is supposed to increase your chances due to a chemical in the yam skin that makes you produce more than one egg at ovulation.
Good luck and I hope you are having twins, it is so incredibly exciting!
I guess if you have high levels of HCG then that would be a sign that there are two in there. My doctor figured it out because my uterus was so big. He then sent me for an ultrasound and at 8 weeks I found out there were two!!!

Hi there.
I am an identical twin and just found out two days ago that I am having twins! To say that I was shocked would be an understatement. I am so glad my husband went with me to the ultrasound because I was in a bit of a daze driving home as I was thinking about "double" everything... lol.
I am only at 8 weeks so I will be on pins and needles until the next ultrasound. The good news is that the babies were pretty much the same size and both had strong heartbeats at identical rates. From what we could see on the ultrasound, it appears the twins are likely fraternal. I am hoping for one of each gender as this is my first, and likely my last, pregnancy.
