Hello. I am only cd 21. on cd 20, i took 2 hpts and they were both STRONG +. i then got blood work done 10 min after that ( i work in a hospital) and my hcg was 2,429!!!!!!!!!! they should only be around 100-500! i called my ob this am and tol him, he's doing a repeat hcg on THURSDAY, and no u/s until im 8 weeks. he said that they couldnt see anything until i was 8 weeks. is that true???? i thought for sure they could do one now just to see how many sacs there were. so what do you guys think, is there more than one???????!

High levels is really no sure indication. The only sure way is u/s. It is way to early to see anything. at 8wks you're almost quaranteed to see viable heartbeats. That being said...we saw both & heard our twins heartrates at 7wks.

We saw both twins hb's at 6 weeks, but one was barely a flicker. I was in IF treatment so I knew the exact day that I conceived, so I was exactly 6 weeks. When you conceive naturally you could be off a little so it's best to wait until 8 weeks so you are sure you're far enough along to see something. If you have an u/s too early you're likely not to see anything and you'll be frustrated. Like Corona said, HCG levels aren't really reliable.

OH Utopia thats awsome! I am so happy for you... I don't want to scare you or upset you but did your doctor mention that you might have HCG still in your system from you MC? Have you taken an HPT since your MC (that was negative). I've heard of women testing Positive up to a month after they MC'd....I dont want you to get scared though because that is probably not likely.... You were taking Clomid right? Did you ever have an ultrasound to see how many follicles you had..... I know that everyone on here is very hesitant about people who think they could have multiples.. But I think that your HCG levels are definitly saying something LOL.. Here is a site where you can chart them and compare to other people... beta base.info/index.php (you know to put the 3w's in front with the (.)right? Oh and take out the space between 'beta' and 'base') Let us know what turns out.. I am so happy for you girl. You really deserve some good luck!!! Now if only we could get Veda to update us!!!!! CONGRATS!

hi guys, and thanks for the responses and support! congrats on the twins corona and freebird! laura- my hcg levels were down to normal. the m/c was jan 29th, so its over 2 months ago (10weeks?) i was taking clomid and my ob wasn't observing me at all during the first 2 months. this last time, he told me to take a 3 month break off clomid, but i took it anyway. i just dont believe that im only 9dpo with a count that high!!!! i also dont see how my dates would be off.....i've only had one period since the m/c! i dont think i could have been pregnant and bleeding like a period! thanks for the website, i checked it out and i am keeping track of the counts. i go back in thurs, so im hoping its around 9,000!!!!! thanks again girls...you're awesome!

hey guys. i got my blood work today. so 4 days after my first hcg being 2,429, it was 4,150 today. so what the heck do you all think???? first of all, they didnt double in even 4 days. second of all, they're still way hight for me only being cd24. i did take clomid. i keep thinking it's either multiples or molar?????? should i be concerned that it didnt double and double again?

Tenk - April 6

Hi Utopia, thanks for asking about me. I'm doing well. I'm on CD9 of my um 13th cycle trying I think, maybe 14th. I did my normal clomid from days 2-6 and did a gonal-f shot on day 7, and will probably do one on today, Sun, and Tues, depending on how I'm feeling about it and the twinges and what not that I'm having. We were going to do IUI this month as well and found out that our insurance does not cover it at all so out of pocket it would have been $375 or $465 depending on how it has to be washed. So DH decided he wanted to wait til June to do the d__n IUI. So I'm a little bummed out about that, but oh well. you win some you lose some right. About your numbers, since it was so high the first time and didn't double maybe the first numbers were a fluke some how and everything is fine. A molar is possible but let's think positive and say it's great and the first one was a fluke. I do wish you the best with this pregnancy tho....I'm praying for a sticky bean for you!! Hi Laura!! Hugs ~Teneal

Tenk: Utopia wrote on another thread (the one I started for Unconventional TTC in the general pregnancy forum) that she found out it was a blighted Ovum.. she goes in tomorrow for a D&C

utopia8302 - April 18

hi tenk- im so sorry i havent been on. so yeah, the levels kept rising, but only the sac was growing. So, I had my first D&C today. I really didnt know what to expect. This was MUCH easier than m/c on my own. I just got back a few hours ago, so i dont know if this is the worst right now, or if it will get worse in a few days, but it's not too painful. Just in shock still that this is happening to ME. no one in my family ever had problems, so I didnt expect to either. I really don't want to wait 3 months either. oh well, the only thing to do is to keep moving on. I dont know how you did it, you and everyone else seems very brave. anyways-when are you going to start taking hpts?????? I will definitely keep you in my prayers and cross my fingers for you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry. It's times like this when you just don't know the right words. You sound to be in pretty good spirits...you're much stronger than I could ever hope to be. If I were in your shoes I would probably want to try again asap. But try to listen to the doctors...you don't want to damage you body further & have if effect any chance at a healthy pregnancy. My heart goes out to you. Give you body, mind, heart & soul time to heal. Best Wishes.
