Hello all, I am new to this forum and wanted to see if anyone on here has gone through someo fhte things I have questions about. I am on my first cyle of Clomid, 50mg. My DH and I have been TTC for 3 yrs with no success. We have been through all the testing for infertiltiy with all normal results. Doctor diagnosed unexplained infert_tity and gave some options, Clomid being one of them. My question is, has anyone that has normal ovulation ever gotten pregnant using Clomid ? If so, how many cylces were used ? Any information will help./..Thanks

Hi Babyblues, You're in a similar position as me because we've been trying for at least a couple of years, no success, and test results revealed everything was ok, and i have no problems with my ovulation etc. So I've recently been prescribed some Clomid 50mg, I'm currently on my 2nd cycle, recently discovered 5 mature follicles, but we don't know if they're cysts or not at this stage. I did have a cysts on my ovary a few months ago, before starting the treatment and it cleared up the following month. My nurse/consultant did advise us not to continue trying for pregnancy during the current cycle due to the potential mutliple births/complications but that's our decision at the end of the day. Also, I am to give my body a rest from the treatment during the next cycle, to allow it to heal cos it could be dangerous if I continued to take the Clomid. I'm 40 now and whilst IUI and IVF have been withrawn from the NHS now, it's the last resort for us if we wanted to pay and choose this method via private medical care, which we have also. But we decided to keep on trying to get pregnant, regardless, because after alot of research, it is VERY rare for all mature follicles to release/fertilise eggs? It's mainly only 1 or even twins, which is what we'd be happy with anyway but if it's more, we'd still be happy, better than none at all. I don't know the average time it takes for people to fall pregnant on Clomid, but I reckon within 6 months, something should happen? Good luck and all the best, Sheena.
