Hello All,
I just read all your messages and I am 21 weeks pregnant with twin boys. At 10 weeks I had some bleeding and they did an ultrasound and that is when they found 2 babies. The doctor saw me right afterwards and met with us and explained how my pregnancy would be monitored. If you don't feel comfortable with your doctor, I would switch, esp. if this is your first pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy and I think I would have been so upset if they didn't talk to me afterwards. I found out at 17 weeks that they were boys. I had a level 2 ultrasound to make sure their weren't any abnormalities. Now I have an ultrasound at least every 4 weeks. I just had one on the 17th. They will be measuring my cervix every 3 to 4 weeks until I reach 32 weeks. My doctor informed me that the average twin pregnancy is 34 to 36 weeks, but some people go full term. Regarding the vanishing twin syndrome, once you hit the 12 week mark, your chances of losing one are very slim. I am also only 5'2" and started at 135 pounds, I gained about 25 pounds so far and feel pretty good. Although I know the 3rd trimester is going to be the hardest. I wish all of you lots of luck!
