Hey ladies!!! well my story is long but i will make it short. I have been trying to conceive for the past maybe 3yrs with no success. I was curious to know why i didnt have normal menstrual cycles i could go for a year without having one. When i was 16 my doctor precribed provera so i can have a period and i bleed extremly heavy for a week.. i should have worn a diaper lol... then after that he placed me on birth control so i can at least regualte and have my period every month. I took birth control from age 16-24 and decided to stop because i was scared it might affect the possibility to have kids (but still no period on its my own). So at age 26 i decided to ttc and had no luck my GYN placed me on provera and clomid 50mg and after 3 tries no success. i believe it didnt work the last two times because i didnt have a period when i was taking the two last cycles of clomid. At age 27 i decided to google my conditions and came upon PCOS and started reseraching and i was positive that i had PCOS. I went to see my GYN and he referred me a fertility doctor. She did some blood work everything was normal which also included my sugar level which was perfect. She also did a sonogram which just by the look of my ovaries and i knew i had PCOS and she confirmed it. After all of those test she discovered that i had a small polyp that had to be removed so in december 2011 i got the surgery. Post Op she decided to place me back on birth control for the first 4 months so i can get regular periods (i was really not happy to go back on birth control). By the end of last month i went in for my annual pap and she checked me out prescibed Clomid 100mg since 50mg didnt work the first time. I got my period in april 2 and by april 5 i started taking my clomid (first day i felt cramping on my right side). So im doing clomid cycle 5-9 and by the 13-18 i can start checking for ovualation. I pray to God that i get prego in this round. I hope he blesses me with a healthy child or two... I'm so ready to be a mom.... Baby dust to all... i will keep updates

Hi Navis- my doctor hasn't placed me on metformin... She did all the blood test and my sugar levels were normal... The only side effect that I have from pcos is a little of facial hair... Hopefully clomid works and I don't have to go further into other treatments... There is 5 days left until my period is suppose to come...if it doesn't then I'm going to buy a pregnancy test to see if the 100mg clomid worked...what I'm most scared of is hearing all these m/c stories after using clomid....

Hi Gigi84-even though my sugar level is normal too but doc put me on met because it reduce the chances of m/c which i have heard.yes pcos does have facial hair growth, irregular period type side effects..but if you exercise regularly and go for a healthy diet it will helps a lot..and clomid doesn't increase the chances of miscarriage.i got 3 m/c.on last one my progesterone was low after conceiving.pcos is the reason of having that many m/c.i wish you get bfp. i will add you in my prayers too..and don't think about m/c keep yourself busy and happy and you will see things will work...
