I'm 6 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins. Both have a heartbeat, but one is about a week behind in developement from the other one. Is this normal? Can the smaller twin catch up? I am so afraid of losing one.

My girl has always measured 2-3 days behind my boy. This has been fairly consistent though since 8 weeks and I'm 25 weeks now.

Thank you so much Melissa. I went through IVF for this pregnancy and I have a friend who is in the exact same situation I am in now. One twin is a week behind the other. I talked with her after I submitted this, it sure makes me feel better! Good luck and thanks again.

I don't remember how far along I was - maybe 8 or 9 weeks but one of my twins was smaller by like 4 days. They told me it could be because of downs syndrome or another chromosome disorder. I have the first look test done and they took some blood. Everything was fine! I'm now 19 weeks and the smaller baby is now 1 day older than the once bigger baby. I have never seen twins born with the same weight so I wouldn't worry. Like my dr. said - when I'm worried I'll let you know!
