Ultrasound Pic Help Please

Here is a link to my ultrasound pic, you will have to take out any -'s (sorry) I was sceptical before, but got the negatives back today, this is a photo I took by taping it to my computer screen. Is that possible a second sack that is being squished by the big one? Another thing that makes me wonder is that both the actual sack and what looks like a 2nd one, both have that white ring around the outside IYKWIM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v500/laneylin/ultras.jpg TIA

gosh yours DOES look interesting!!!! so many shadows so many double echos...there seem definately 2 huge blobs inside your sac...but i doubt there is anyhting outside it...the rest being either your rectum or bladder or other anatomy...but those 2 blobs are very clear...was there a hearbeat ficker only in one of them? was the tech sure it was a yolc sac? inmmy second latest scan i had a a clear balck sac..(second one vanished) and all around is white and grey but clearly nothing else...inside the sac there is a blob up at the toip with one heartbeat flicker...hence only one baby...when is your next scan you maybe surprised?

Linda - December 28

Thanks Yas, my next scan is on the 13th Jan :( Yep they only checked for a heartbeat in one of them. The 2 blobs in what is definately the sack is the baby and the yolk sack, it is the other area that comes off the definiye sack that i'm questioning. It's not a shadow, the tech said it's a bleed area, but it looks to me like something is inside IYKWIM , up top of it looks like it could be a fetus, and in the bottom could be a yolk sack plus I don't know that a bleed area would have the same type ring around it as the actual sack does? Those other black areas would just be my insides ;) Might have to go do some more searching today, here is one pic I found that is kind of similar, although the two are seperated more than mine are, you see the bottom one in this is more blurry and less defined as mine is but the top one you can definately see it's a sack "http://pregnancy.about.com/library/ultrasounds/991aaaaj.jpg"

the thing LInda is once you point it out it becomes more obvious...what did the tech say i mean if you saw the hearbeat in the fisrt one (in mine you could see it flicker quite clearly) then did you see another flicker in the other one in the second potential sac? when is your scan...i am having one tommorrow..ot make sure i don't have more than one baby as the tech was sceptical last time she booked me in for a big scan with the actual consultant OB...who will do a scan using a more advanced machine....i am just excited as i get the excuse to see the baby again...my insitincs have always been right from the start that this is only one baby!!!and hence i am not under any illusions that they will see another one tommorrow nor do i CARE....LOL!!!i got my peanut and i am happy i have seen it healthy so far...now another 8 months to go...and worry!!!!lol.....but its bliss....

I honestly would say he mustn't have seen a flicker in the other one, I didn't look, was too busy checking out my baby ;) Next scan is with OB who also has a better machine, so looking forward to that and getting a definite answer, by then if there is 2 then they should both show up easily. I wasn't actually trying for twins, just a baby, so either way i'm chuffed, just confused right now. Of course twins would be lovely, would give me the 6 kids I always imagined I would have. I am high risk so the prospect of DH allowing me another is between buckleys and non...lol...right now I just want my baby to be o.k and make it to 34wks with no problems, luckily my last baby was o.k and delivered at 37wks :)

Wah! For some reason I can't get it to open.

Linda - December 28

You have to take out the dashes (-) it's in the word albums ;)

TripletMom - December 28

hmmm... looks like only one sac. How far along are you?

Linda - December 28

That was 7wks 5 days, I'm now 9wks 5 days, what do you think that other bit comming off it is?

onetwothree - December 28

All I see is one sac with what looks like a baby in it. I think I know what you are referring to but it could be a shadow or who the heck knows with these things. I can't tell an ovary from a bladder when I look at these. In fact, sometimes I can't even make out the baby! LOL!

sono tech - January 4

i'm an ultrasound tech and to me it looks like only one baby. the second thing that you say it looks like another sac doesnt look like a sac to me its just prob an implantation bleed or just the way the pic was taken its hard to tell. but in anycase thats not how twin preg looks like. it also looks like you might have an ovarian cyst, very comon in pregnancy. hope it helps

Linda - January 4

Thanks sono-tech, yes I have 3 ovarian cysts on the right side (i was sure the tech said left, but the pictures are labelled right), he said the that ovary did all the work and the other did nothing...lol...that is how I know I released 3 eggs. (at least i think that's what it means) He did say the second area was a bleed, but I havn't been able to find any pics that look like it. What is the stuff inside it? It even looks like there is a really thin line that I thought may have been the yolk stalk or the membrane. So it's not possible it is a smaller sac that stopped growing then?

I should also mention, this scan was trans abdominal, not trans-v____al, he did mention doing a v____al one after he started then didn't end up doing it, it was at 7wks 5 days, either way, I have another scan in 8 days so will get more concrete answers then 9hopefully). All I can think is that either it will have gotten bigger, will have disapeared (in which case I will never know) or it will be the same and I can ask my OB to take a closer look. Thanks again
