What was the first thing that made you think you were having twins? Horrible sickness, measuring ahead of dates, really tired, extra hungry..., or did you not have a clue until your first ultrasound?

I had my blood drawn to see if I was pregnant and my levels came back really high and so I had a strong feeling after that.

No clue until the u/s at 12 weeks.

I had IUI + clomid and knew that I had 3 follicles, but I really didn't think there would be more than 1. I had no symptoms and found out at the first u/s.

Kristen, congratulations. Just how high were your beta levels from the blood test? And how many days post ovulation did you take the test?

We were on Clomid, so it was always a possiblity. We just kind of suspected for some reason before I even had the blood draws, which were higher. At 15 dpo, they were 1450 and at 17dpo, they were 2890. We officially found out that there were 2 at our first u/s at 8 weeks, but it had just been a "joke" up until that point. Oh, my pants did seem to get tight around 5-6 weeks. I know most people say that it can't be the babies that early and it was a second (sucessful) pregnancy for us, but I didn't even start showing until about 5mo. with my first.

My symptoms were definately different than with my singleton pregnancies. Firstly, I was waking up to go to the bathroom at night from about 2 weeks after conception, this never happened so early. Secondly, a major sign to me that something was different was that I had an insatiable hunger ALL the time! I was eating HUGE amounts, and then still hungry! This is usually so unlike me. Finally, when I used to wake up in the morning, still lying in bed, if I put my hand on my stomach, I could actually feel the hard little ball of my uterus. I could never do this before.
Oddly enough, I suffered barely no morning sickness. They say it's usually worse with twins.. not that I was complaining on that score!
Having said all that, I realistically didn't think I was actually carrying twins until I saw them on ultrasound at 8 weeks. What a wonderful surprise!
Good luck with everything.
