Anyone Taken Gonal F

I have read a lot of posts about Clomid but nothing about other fertility medicines. Has anyone out there taken Gonal F and had success with it? What were your side effects? How many rounds/cycles did you have to take? What were your mg and how many days did you take the shots before your HCG shot? Would you recommend it?

Hi wantingmorebabies, i just finished my first round yesturday on Gonal F 337.5 for 10 days and tomorrow is my eggs retrival day.My doc. could see on u/s about 12,13 follies but the real eggs count will be known by tomorrow. As side efects i had sometimes sadness and now, one day before procedure and after yesturday's nite Ovidrel-trigger injection, have a bit pain on both sides wich is normal. If all comes ok then we will have blasocyst transfer days 4 or five wich is this Sunday. The reason is b/c we are doing PGD-preimplatation genetic diagnoses b/c we had m/c's at five weeks and 11 weeks two moths ago. Are you going for IUI or IVF and what is dosage what your doc. gave you?

Thank you for responding. I will probably end up doing IVF. We (my DH, doctor and myself) are still talking about our options. I wanted to be informed as much as possible. Don't get me wrong, I love the medical field, but I can say with certainty that my doctor has not actually gone through these shot cycles so I wanted to hear it for myself what they really feel like (side effects wise) and outcomes before making my decision to go through this. I have wonderful insurance coverage, but it just doesn't include IVF or any type of ART. It does cover all of the meds, all of the tests and our office visits - just no "experimental procedures." I was told that it will end up costing us anywhere from $800 to $8,400 and they offer an "IVF Guarantee" giving us approximately 80% back if it does not work. I am just really nervous as to the side effects. I was lousy with just the Clomid and afraid of the Gonal F because it is a much stronger medicine. If you don't mind, would you keep posting your progress so I can feel a little more rea__sured as I go though this? Thank you in advance! I pray that you have lots of great eggs and at least 1 happy and healthy baby!
