Chances Of 2nd Set Of Twins

When i was 21 i had my first pregnancy with boy/girl twins. i have twin sisters, twin aunts , twin cousins, you name it. I am now 11 weeks pregnant (26 years old) and i am having terrible pregnancy symptoms, i went to my first dr.s apt today and they didnt seem concerned at all. i mentioned twins again and they just more or less ignored the question. So fortunately my mom came with me and demanded a ultrasound and they gave in i have one tuesday july 12th. so i guess i'll find out than. does anyone know the chances of a second set or had a second set of twins? mine are fraternal, boy/girl twins

Sounds like you've got quite a line in your family, well, two lines, I guess. 8^) I have heard that once you have one set of twins the odds of having another set raise substantially. Esp considering that they are fraternal so you probably are genetically predisposed to releasing more than one egg per cycle. And since you've given birth to one set already your body knows you can do it. Good Luck and I hope you get what you're hoping for (whether it's twins or a singleton).

i'm kinda hoping its twins, either way it dont matter to me!!! mine are the center of my universe, its hard but well worth it. thanks!

Christina- Did you ever find out? My sister had a set of twins and her Dr. told her she is likely to have another set. Her next pregnancy after the twins was a singleton (although she thought for sure she was having twins again.) Our maternal grandmother had 3 sets of fraternal twins, so it runs in the family. I hope all is well. Let us know
