Just a note to anyone who is thinking about using robitussen or mucinex to help with CM....I read on a site about Clomid, that you should start taking the robitussen/mucinex the day AFTER your last pill. I don't know if it makes that big of a difference or not, but that's what they instruct you to do.

I ordered my Clomid through Medmex. I am currently on CD4 to I will start my Clomid next month. My OPK's that I ordered should be here shortly too. Did anyone start out using 100 mg. I think that is what I am going to do. I do O on my own, my DH is a twin, so I am hoping that helps increase the odds. I am adopted, so I am not sure what runs on my side. Anyone starting Clomid nect month and want buddy up? email me at luvrboyz@adelphia.net Elizabeth

Hello Julie - thx for the info on robitussin I better take that today. As for what does 2-6 & 3-7 mean ...what days you take your clomid ..starting day is always 1st day of af.

Amanda - July 12

One other thing I found on a different web site. Without the cirvical mucus, sperm can only survive for a few hours instead of days. If you are going to use mucinex or robitussin be sure to use egg whites or pre seed to give the little guys some extra help. good luck to all.

Amanda - where do you get preseed? a health store? Thanks for the info ..how r u doing this mth?

Hi All, Hope every1 is well - we are all so busy! I got to the bottom of this page and was out of breath!! I think it's great that we can all share each others emotions - whether good or bad, we can understand each other and offer support even if we are all 000's of miles apart. I am still waiting for my clomid to get here - I am hoping it gets here in the next few days or by end of next week as that is when AF is due...Hi Zoe - I ordered the brand version as opposed to the generic version - they're supposedly the same but I recognised the brand name so trusted it slight more over the generic version...I am feeling very confused over when to take the Guaifenessin in conjuction with the Clomid, when we spk to the Doc I'm sure he will clear up any misunderstandings!!! Baby dust to y'all***********

Elizabeth, If you O on your own, I would suggest starting out with 50mg. If 50 mg works, studies show that 100 or 150 wont' get you any better results. The only thing an increased dose will give you is worse side effects. I was pg with twins off 50 last October (unfortunately lost them in January). HTH! D.

Lauren - July 13

Elizabeth - I'm sorry to hear of your loss ..must be some difficult. Was that your 1st cycle of 50mg...what days did you take it. Where are you now? Waiting till the new year when your little one is 1y/o. I would love twins too. I have 2 girls 7 & 1 yr. You don't think that 100mg would give you a better chance than 50mg?

Lindsay, the 2-6 or 3-7 are the days to take the pills. Most docs prescribe that you take Clomid on CD 5-9 but studies have shown that taking it days 2-6 or 3-7 actually produces more eggs and results in more pregnancies. There is a school of thought that states that these eggs are also more likely to be immature but the fact that so many have had success with the earlier days may bear more weight than the risk of immature eggs.HTH!

Has anyone her done IVF? AND IS NOW PREGNANT?

Here's what they claim: If you already Ovulate, taking clomid is a no no. Well, we're not gonna listen to that anyway. What clomid does is to trick our bodies into producing more FSH and LH. The FSH is what gives us the fat little follies, as you probably already know. If at 50 mg, your body produces enough FSH to fatten up 10 follies, for example, at 100mg, your body is still going to fatten up 10 follies. You won't get more follies, or even fatter follies. The only ones who seem to benefit from increased dosage are those of us who don't ovulate at all. And that's just because their bodies aren't even able to produce enough to fatten up ANY follies. So, they do need the extra boost. I don't know if that makes any sense, and I'm sure that tomorrow another study will come out to disprove everything that has come through up until today. But for now, that's where they stand on it. D.

I have really enjoyed reading your comments on the clomid. I will start taking it today. Are the side effects very bad? Good luck to all hope to hear from you...

Since this isn't strictly a clomid post, but rather about conceiving multiples, has anyone any thoughts on Femara? I know that there is a common idea that it doesn't produce multiples as with Clomid but I still see "10% probability of multiples" on all the peer reviewed research. Anyone have anything? D.

Amanda - July 13

Lauren....just type in pre seed in your browser box. There will be a ton of sites. I ordered mine off ebay for 24.45 including shipping and it came with two extra applicators ( 8 instead of 6). I am currently on cd 8. this will be my second month on clomid at 50mg. I took my last pill yesterday. Hopefully everything will work out this month. I had more headaches this time than last month. I bloated horribily last month, so far not to bad this time around. I'm drinking more water this time, maybe that is helping. Baby dust to everyone.

Amy - July 13

Amanda- I too took my last pill yesterday, and this is also my 2nd month on the clomid. I took it days 2-6. How exciting!
