I was speaking to the "are you all serious" person who didn't state who they were? I'm pretty sure anyone who wants twins has researched enough to know the pros & cons of such a thing.

well I have 3 follies 2 on my rt and 1 on my left. They are all 3x3. Doc says if I get pg this month it will most likley be twins I am so excited! I got a + OPK today, so from that and the u/s it looks like I will be Oing tomarrow. I go back on Thursday for another u/s to make sure they released, and I don't need a trigger shot. Wish me luck!!!

What great news! I can't wait to hear your next update! If I remember correctly, you took 50 mg on days 2-6, correct? - Kristina

Kristina- yes I did take 50mg days 2-6. This is my second cycle on the clomid. I also take an estrogen supp to help with the cervical mucos, and I will also be taiking a progestron supp after I O to help with my lining and implantation.

That's awesome, Amy! I'm so excited for you. I hope you end up with twins! I sure wish I had a doctor giving me ultrasounds before and during ovulation to know if they released or not! That is so fun. For me, I just have to hope that I had more than one egg released, and that they were both fertilized. I won't find out for a while, unless I have to go in suddenly for something. That's not a bad idea actually... :-) Well, good luck to everyone else! ***Baby Dust***

Does anyone know of any insurance issues with clomid? On another website, I read something about insurance companies not covering children born with the help of clomid? Someone else on that site thought this was false, so I'm not sure what to believe. It did occur to me that there might be an issue with insurance companies when it comes to taking unprescribed (prescription) meds. Anyone thought or heard about this?
Just curious!

I am going to a new doctor on Monday. I'm hoping to get on Clomid again. Who knows, I might end up getting gonatropids. I hope not cause it will cost serious $$$. I wish everyone the BEST of luck and may all your dreams come true. After 4 years, I'm hoping my journey ends with a successful pregnancy.

As to the question of insuring a child conceived through Clomid, I was told that it should not be an issue. If this was the case, children conceived through IVF would not be insurable, either.

I think I am going to order my clomid and start next month. Thanks to everyone posting here - the information and support is wonderful! I have two questions ... (1) I am trying to figure out what day is "day one" of my cycle. Most sites say "first day of 'normal' menstral flow", but mine is always irregular. For instance, I started yesterday, with a pretty light flow, and today there has been almost none. My periods are only a few days long anyway (2-4). So how do I determine "normal" flow?? (A guy must've written that statement!) ....... (2) Is it best to TTC the first cycle you take clomid? I imagine so, since you aren't supposed to take it very many cycles in a row.

Julia - I have not had any trouble with my insurance company covering the cost of my clomid or covering the cost of healthcare for my daughter who was concieved with clomid. I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant with twins with the help of clomid and again no issue with insurance. I do have PCOS and therefore do not ovulate on my own, so my clomid was prescribed. An insurance company could look at it differently if it was unprescribed I guess.

I was on clomid with my dd. I was on 250mg a day for five days. I didn't ovulate without the drugs. The chances of twins is less the 10% and the chances of triplets or more is less the n15%. My fertility doc told me that i have a better chance for twins on my own then with clomid. And triplets I have about the same chances on the clomid or not.

Missi - well I guess that sums it up...not too good of a chance on having twins if you do truly want them eh? I guess I'm dreaming for sure... boy I'm bummed!

Katie - you 1st day of the most flow is day 1 to begin your pills. I am like you & have several days of light / scant brown spotting & then a heavier day does eventually come. Best of luck
