Chances Of Twins Multiples

Amanda - I'm SO sorry about the spotting. Even though it could be nothing, and/or a sign of multiples, it has got to be SO scary when it's unknown...especially with a previous mc. When I get pregnant again, I'm going to be a nervous wreck. Which is unfortunate, because I doubt I'll ever be able to enjoy the beginning of a pregnancy the way I used to. I will definately be thinking of you. Let us know what your levels say. Good Luck, and LOTS of STICKY dust!

Jaime thank you It is so good to see you are ding well Amanda - I had spotting with both my pgcies. Right around the same time as you & I have two amazing girls now. Stay positive, there could be absolutely nothing wrong. Baby dust ladies

Well the doctor just called. My pregesterone levels should be at least a 15 and mine were 34. My HCG should have been at least 1200 and mine is over 3000. Hopefully that means I am carrying multiples, but it could also indicate an ectopic pregnancy. She told me to keep of my feet as much as possible to see if that helps with the bleeding. The backaches yesterday where horrible and I was worried it was a sign of a m/c. Now I'm thinking it may be because I am carrying more than one baby. Keep that sticky dust coming my way. LOL. Baby and Sticky Dust to everyone!!!

Congrats to all those trying. I just got a confirmed BFP. I ovulate naturally but wasn't getting pregnant and my doctor put me on 50 mg. of Clomid. Days 5-9. I got my BFP on the first cycle after trying on my own for 7 months with nothing. I'd love twins but I'm doubtful as my HCG levels are on the low side. So I've been given pills Congrats to all the posts of the ladies with BFP and baby dust to all the others. Oh... my due date would be May 10th

Julie - September 7

Amanda - That is SO great! I'm sure that helps you feel a litte better. Are they going to check your levels again? Keep us updated... you too, Lauren! Lots of Sticky Baby Dust to all you BFP's!

Lauren, I'm doing ok I guess. Still waiting to O this month. I've got the mucus, but no +OPK yet, and I usually ovulate, including the time I concieved with Clomid in July, on CD 14-15. Today I'm CD 17, and I haven't tested yet. I will do it in the mid morning, and again later in the evening. Maybe the Clomid is making me O later??? Did that happen to any of you. It's just strange that it didn't the first time around. I start taking it a day later this month, to hopefully get more mature follies (and maybe reduce the risk of mc again?). Let me know if any of you O'd later, and successfully concieved. I'm only 11 days until AF was due, and isn't that kinda bad? I thought a "good" luteal phase was like 14 days... Any thoughts anyone? Thanks! Let us know what your levels are Amanda & Lauren! Anxiously waiting...BABY DUST!

Hi ladies well confirmed from bl test that I am pg! YAH. However they wouldn't tell me the levels & I'm so bummed all she said is its normal.?? so I guess now I will have to wait & see when the US happens. I think they would have told me if levels were high right? Is it a fair statement that if you are preg with multiples your hcg would be high right away? help.

Hey girls CONGRATS to all you prego's out there. I wanted to tell you that my best girl friend of 35 years is pregnant 15 weeks with triplets from iIVF. You would of thought that her symtoms would have been 3x the amount of a single but they were not she had NO sickness at all and was just tired like the norm. So for all you gilrs who want the multiples I think it is always possible even if the signs are not there. She knew from US that they were triplets here hcg's were climbing daily just as they should. So You Never know. Good luck ladies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lauren - September 8

Info I found- It's not possible to determine whether you're having twins or a singleton by hCG levels alone. The range of normal values for twin gestations fall squarely within the range of normal values for singletons. It has not been proven that multiple gestations have faster doubling rates than singleton pregnancies

Lauren, I read that as well about mutliples and HCG levels. I'm hoping there isn't a correlation because my HCG levels are on the low side but I found out so early. My doctor also took clomid and had twins... she had no side effects and didn't know she was having twins until an U/S was performed... we're just going to have to wait it out

Hi, I have been lurking for awhile now and thought I should finally introduce myself. I am a mother of three great kids ages 10, 7, and 4 (b,g,g) all with my high school sweetheart/husband of 10yrs. My husband and I would like to add to our family, he actually would like 5 kids (not sure my body can hold up for two more pregnancys though). I have thought about taking clomid unprescribed for awhile now and didn't realize that I wasn't alone in this thought. It is extremely nice to see that I am not alone/crazy with these thoughts. Like everyone else here I have my own many reasons for wanting twins. It would give my husband the 5 kids that he wishes for as well as only one last pregnancy for me (eventhough I feel great while I am pregnant and actually enjoy being pregnant). My grandmother (who raised me since my mother died at age 30) lost one of her twins when she was 7 or 8 months along and having a set of twin grandchildren is a dream of hers. My MIL (who I love and care about deeply and who has gone through 4 rounds of chemo and may be facing another round soon) talks about twins all the time and I think it would really give her a boost that would help her through yet another round of chemo. I am a RN and have weighted the difficulties carefully. I have absolutely no problems with pregnancy, I have huge healthy babies (8.6lbs., 9lbs., & 9.7lbs.). I must lack enough natural oxytocin because I can't go into labor on my own. I was even two weeks late with my last (two weeks because I kept getting bumped for an induction) when she was so big and darn near falling out on her own had my cervix been open she would have. My doctors have always told me that my placenta is big, my last doc said that my placenta was so big and healthy that it could have supported triplets. I have ordered the clomid throught the same company that Kim did. I started on fertility blend as well as high doses of folic acid (about 3000mg/day), ASA, and mucinex. I plan on taking this for the recommended three months then in Novenber start the clomid at 25mg day 3-7. Hopefully this will help prep my body. Then in December I plan on clomid 50mg days 3-7 and ttc. We have always gotten pregnany on the first try so I am hoping to be careful till I have done everything possible to prep my body for twins (plus December is supposed to be a boy month for me :o)!) It will be kinda hard to wait to ttc since it is so exciting but I really want to do this right. Thanks to everyone for all their information sharing. I would really appreciate any thoughts on my plan, do you think I have done this right? Double baby dust to everyone here!!! I sure hope everything is allright with Kim, her silence is troublesome but I pray she and the babies are growing well. Holly

hi everyone????where is everyone???some updates would be nice... and to the last post...wow what prep....i am just thinking of looking fater myself eat normally, keeping active and healthy and then allow for 1 cycle to pa__s before i take my clomid... i am no where near preparing as you do....and feel utterly guilty!!! i am planning to start clomid preferably in october and take it fro once culce to see if its effecting me in anyway...if it is fine then i might take it in the next cycle...how many times and cycles should one take clomid to increase the chances??? i hope everyone is doing great and would love to hear from all of you....

to yas2000 - September 9

I would love to have updates from everyone too. I have always done things this way in life either all the way or nothing. I figure this is pretty important so I better go all the way :o). I am also going to add in yams frequently, I love them anyways just with b___ter, salt & pepper. I think I remember reading from someone here that it is your second cycle of clomid that will give you a better chance of concieving twins or concieving period. Holly
