does anyone know when you are supposed to take wild yams? I heard they can enable twins, but is it safe to take with clomid? and when can you take them, before you O or after? thanks!

Hi Lauren thanks for replying well i tested today and neg result, i must have o'd around days 8th sep - 10 sept later than normal so af should be due sat or sun, will try that bit harder next cycle thanks and take care -Clair

Lauren: Yes I want to know what I am having. I already have a bueatiful 2 yr. old daughter. I wouldn't mind a boy, but another girl is fine with me. I still have all my daughters clothes put away so I will be set for clothes if it is a girl. My mom said if it is a boy, she will throw me another baby shower (for immediate family only) just to get some clothes. The infant carseat, stroller, baby tub, ect. are all unis_x so clothes and maybe replacement nipples for the bottles are all I would need. I plan to b___st feed, but I will be using a pump. I did it that way for my daughter for 3mths and it was so much easier. I can pump and be done in 10 min while my husband is still giving the baby the bottle. My stomach is certainly getting bigger, but so far no weight gain. The doctor said I shouldn't really gain untill my 2nd trimester anyway. I feel like all I want to do is eat, sleep, and nothing. Not always in that order. This week has been especially bad. I blaming it on the baby doubling in size this week. Take care. Baby Dust to everyone!!!!

Thanks for the advice. I am going to talk to my insurance agency and see what they say. Has anyone tried any other things to get pregnant with twins/multiples besides clomid? Does anyone know how far back in your family history it has to be for you to have increased chances of twins? My great grandma had twins and no one in my family has had twins since. to kerri -- my maternal great grandmother had twins -- it's the only set I could find in my family history and I conceived twins naturally, so it's definately possible.

Amanda2 - my great g.mom had twins also I sure hope I have the same result as you. Did you know it was twins right away? Were they your 1st babies? what did you have? Amanda - sounds like you are very organized. I have 2 girls so another girl would be easier however my SIL has 2 boys & would gladly lend me her stuff. Hi all. I went to my appt today. Horray for me I o'ed on the left side which is my good side. I have to get my shot of HSG on Sunday which my friend is going to help me with (she's a nurse) I was afraid of giving myself an injection. And I have to go back to the Dr on Monday. He wants to do an IUI on monday. This will be my first IUI and we really hadn't discussed it much before today so im kinda nervous. I dont know what to expect but the doc said it might up my chances since I only have one good tube. Has any body done IUI?? any sugesstions?? Does it hurt??

Hi Ladies! I have been following your responses here and find them fascinating. I have irregular cycles and have taken Clomid 50mg on 3-7 with 2 of my 3 children, both times singletons. I spontaneously got pg with triplets, but only had sacs when m/c. I would love twins! Do you think 100mg on 2-6 or 1-5 would increase my chances. Love to hear your ideas! Also, Would love to here how Kim is doing?

Hi Everyone, I had my 12 weeks scan yesterday and everything went really well. Baby was very active, waving its arms and legs around everywhere and putting its hands in its mouth. It is now 6cms long not including its legs. I forgot how exciting it is to see your baby up on the screen. Julie: congrats of the BFP! Amanda: congrats on the one baby, my DH was also very excited about having only 1 baby. I had kind of mixed feeling. Rgiht now I'm glad it's only one! Lauren: Can't wait to hear the results of your scan? Sunita & Zoe: how are you?

Lauren -- these are my first babies and they aren't born yet though I know they are two boys. I am due on Dec 15th. However, I just found out from my still-living paternal great grandmother, that her husband's mother had 3 sets of twins and there have been many down that line to have twins as well, so I guess genetics were the main cause of my twins.

Congrats on all the babies! I only hope that I am so lucky. I go to my doc on Oct 7th and am going to ask her about clomid. Wish me luck.... Anyone heard from Kim about the triplets? I hope everything is going well. I also have a question....when I do get my period (which isn't very regular, sometimes I don't get it for a couple months and sometimes I will get it twice in one month) I feel pain on both sides? Does this mean that I am releasing 2 eggs? It doesn't happen every time, but more often than not its both sides. Also, I heard that some foods, like yams, are supposed to increase your chance of twins. Is this true? Or has anyone heard of anything I can do/eat that might? Thanks...

Sorry, I haven't posted for a while been busy with the family wedding but it's all over, I can get back to concerntrating on Baby-Making!!! We are goin on hols to Antigua on 13th Oct and are hoping to concieve then as I should be ovulating around that time - anyway that's the plan so hopefully should have some good news next month..fingers crosed and prayers said. How is everyone else..Lauren, Jaime, Yas, Zoe...??
