Confused About Amount Of Sacs Help

I am 5 weeks and after my ultrasound am thoroughly confused! The nurse didn't tell me but I saw her notes on the screen after the ultrasound. It said two yolk sacs, but there was only one gestational sac. The picture looks like a black hole with 2 round circles in it. I asked the doctor and he just said they usually don't tell patients this early on about those because one usually doesn't make it. My progesterone level was at 9, so I'm on suppositories to help bring it up. I have another ultrasound scheduled this week (I'll be 6 wks), so that makes me think something is wrong to have one scheduled so soon again. Hopefully we will see a heartbeat this time. Could I be having twins? Would they for sure be identical? I get confused reading about amniotic, chorionic and yolk sacs! Please, anyone with answers, help. I'm going crazy over this. I appreciate it.

Occasionally a sac can develop with no fetus inside. If this is the case they would want to monitor it to make sure that the sac becomes reabsorbed and does not hinder the development of the fetus. I hope that helped.
