Malisa- I am not sure why my doctor told me to have intercourse on those days, however, today is day 10 and I am starting intercourse now and every other day until March 3. However, the last time I have intercourse I have felt some unusual pain on my left side where my ovaries are, I am not sure why and I felt the pain for a while after wards, I am a little scared. I am trying to stay positive however it is hard.

Melissa SLP- Can you tell me more about Metamorfin? I am wondering why my doctor did not test my tubes or my husband first, instead she put me on Clomid after she diagnosed me with PCOS. I am worried because today I took at ovulation test this am and it did show me as ovulating. Did you use Ovulation test when you were on Clomid? If so, did it always show you when you ovulated? I am worried about some of this pain I have had after intercourse on my left side where my ovary is.

NikkiM- I only tested + on the Ovulation predictor sticks when I was ovulating. I bought mine in bulk from e-bay because my cycles were really long and I usually didn't ovulate until day 19/20, but I didn't want to miss it if it came earlier so I always tested from day 10 on. I had really bad luck with the Clearplan Fertiliy Monitor - it always told me I was fertile. Obviously NOT! Metformin is a prescription med. that is used mostly by diabetics. It has been found that women with PCOS are often insulin resistant so taking this drug (even alone without other meds) can help in regulating a cycle for those with PCOS. It helps to balance out those out of sync hormones. Let me know if you have any other ?'s Good luck!!!

Hi, Nikki M, clomid pain is common things and once you ovulate it will go a way.You should ask your doctor to do blood test and s____n it is very important.Becose you ha POCS, like my friends, doctor will ussually put you on clomid stright a way.If you dont conceive within 3 rounds on clomid, you should check as well tubes.Clomid is good medication for ladies before 40s and millions womens conceived succesfully arround the world.Chanse to have multiples are very small, but if your doctor monitoring you all should be ok.I had pain on clomid last month during intercorse, but this month not.So every cycle is different.I had IUI last friday cd12, and I am worried becose nurse couldnt see properly on U/S how large are my eggs.Had on left one 19mm and other smaller about15mm.O right had one large 23mm egg or cyst and one very small egg too.I dont know what to think and dont have any feelings what will happend.Semen was good 60 millions with 90% motility, morphology good as well. When she try to inseminate me she had to use small plastic nidle, large one wouldn go easy trough my crevix, so had some spotting as well. She gave me on friday morning 8am trigger shoot and IUI was at 1 pm, I am worried that s____n couldnt survive till O wich should happend within 12-36h.They prefer s____n to wait before O.Now waiting progesterone test on friday to see if I ovulated. If not pregnant next time will have injectible gonal or purogen, becose this was my cycle 3 on clomid.I do O naturaly and all test and s____n are ok, but not pregnant yet.I am not nervouse, honestly I am totally flat with no any feelings.Good luck girlls baby dust to all.

Melissa- So it would be wise to continue testing on after the 16th? As well as having intercourse every other day? So far I started testing yesterday (Day 10) and I will continue. You ovulated on day 19/20 with 50mg of Clomid? I just want it to happen! It is so discouraging. I will talk to my doctor about doing those test. I a__sumed she would try me on this for the first 3 months then look at other testings. We shall see.

How common is pain with intercourse with Clomid? Can someone tell me if they to have experienced this problem?

NikkiM - February 21

Also, can people tell me if you are on Clomid when is the most common time to ovulate. My doctor tells me either day 12, 14 or 16 but after hearing people talk it can be any days after day 10- day 20- or 21? Also, when should I start prgenancy testing?

MelissaSLP - February 21

NikkiM- It is common for women on clomid to O later than a natural/normal 28 day cycle where a woman would O on day 14 or so. There is thread that asks what cycle day people have O'd. You should check that out. Again, mine was later 19/20, but I never ovulate on my own. It can also depend on when you take the clomid in your cylce. I took mine days 5-9. I tested with the OPK until I got a positive and it could be as late as day 20. I went through a lot of sticks, but towards the end I bought them in bulk off e-bay and saved a bunch.

I wanted to add that our OB had told us to bd from days 9-14 and we found after awhile that part of the reason we weren't getting preg. was because I was ovulating so much later. We still started bd'ing day 9, but went right through day 20 (got kind of sick of it - lol)

NikkiM - February 21

Melissa- LOL yea I am starting to see what you mean about being sick of it and we just started haha. But you got to do what you got to do! Keep me in your prayers and I will you. Keep me posted on how you do and I will you as well. Baby dust to you!

I took at ovulation test this morning and it showed that I had at LH surge and was getting ready to ovulate in the next 24/36 hours. I used Clear Blue Easy which is rated #1 it says it is 99.9% accurate. Has anyone else had a success using this OPK?

Malisa - February 28

I was just wondering if you guys bd every second day. My doc told me to from days 10-24. But during the week of days 11-15 we did every day. Is that okay. Also, how many of you didn't ovulate the first 2 months on clomid? How many rounds did it take you to ovulate?

Hi. Here's my story. I was diagnosed in december after 5 years TTC, with PCOS. I saw a NEW doctor on the 20th. He gave me 2 prescriptions. One was for the med. to make me have a period, b/c I, like NikkiM, do not have periods on my own, though the doctor says for some reason, it appears by the ultrasound that I did Ovulate, and I have a significant white streak, which means, I am producing a good amt of estrogen, which is also uncommon for PCOS. Anyways, this is what he told me, and gave me a printout to take home - take the medroxyprogesterone for 12 days straight. As soon as I start bleeding, count that as day 1 of my cycle. On days 3-7 take the 50mg Clomid. Most fertile days 13-17. have intercourse on days 13, 15, 17. If I do not have a period by day 35 come in, and a pg test and an ultrasound will be done. If I am not pg, the dosage will be raised. I was reading on here and noticing that alot of people are ovulating before then, and are told to start intercourse around day 10. Should invest in a O prediction kit??? What do you think? Thanks. This is a great site, I am so glad I found it. I am glad that I do have other people out there that are going throught the same exact thing as I am.

MelissaSLP - March 24

I wouldn't waste my $$ on the expensive OPK (CB Fetility monitior). It never worked for me - always said I was "high" and never indicated ovulation. I did switch to regular OPK strips which seemed to do better for me (you can buy them cheap off of e-bay). I O'd later around days 19/20, so when my Dr. had originally told me to bd days 9-14, I was missing my O all together. Good luck to you.

Malisa - March 25

AlisaD- have you started the provera(medroxyprogesteone) yet? i take the same thing, then clomid. I'm on my 3rd month now, i haven't ovulated yet. I really hoping this month is the month!

AlisaD - March 26

Yes. I started the medroxyprogesterone on the 20th. I am supposed to take that for 12 days straight. I am on day 5 now. The doctor told me to keep taking them even when I get my period, I have to take all 12. Then on days 3-7 I take the clomid, even if I am still taking the medroxy. Thanks for the information MelissaSLP, that's what I was worried about, the days he told us to have intercourse, I wouldn't be "O", and it would waste the whole month. I hate to hear about your bad luck Malisa. My doctor said that even though I didn't have my period, it had appeared that I had "O". Has anyone had any luck with the Clomid - Medroxy combination????
