Hello Hollie! I too am going through the same thing as yourself. I am 22, I was married in June 2005. My husband and I started trying in August 06 as well and had no luck. I found out I had pcos about 1 month ago and will be meeting with my gyn on May 10 to begin Clomid. When I saw your posting I knew I had to write as we have so much in common. I will pray for you and hope that everything works out. I hope and pray that all of you reading this posting including myself will soon have a successful story to post. --Holly

I have my first prescription of clomid just waiting for my next period. I was told at a young age that I wouldn't be able to conceive at all, but that was not true. I have a 3 yr. old conceived naturally (no birth control ever), but that was a HUGE surprise. Now, we deperately want another child, especially since I just miscarried twins at 12 weeks (ID twins in the same sac). I just had my first period since the loss, but it was very light and only lasted a couple of days (my normal periods are heavy and last on an average 6-7 days). I have a luteal phase defect (short) and I also have a low progesterone level normally. Also, although I tend to have my periods regularly, according to my charts, temps, and ov predictors, I only ovulate 4-5 times out of the year. Now that I'm being closely monitored by an OB/perinatologist, I feel much better about all of this. What I am worried about is the multiples possibility. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to have twins but no more than that (especially now that we lost twins). I realize that ID twins have no bearing on me conceiving twins again. However, with the combo. of Clomid and a family history of twins (my grandmother was twin, and she conceived twins herself as well), what are the odds for me? As I said before, we would be completely overwhelmed, but in all honesty, I myself would LOVE to have twins. Regardless, just to have a sweet, healthy newborn in my arms again is my most ultimate goal. I look forward to getting to know you all better, and my thoughts & prayers are with you!

I took 50mg clomid one round on days 3-7. I conceived fraternal twins the first round. My doctor was shocked. In her 6 years of experience I was the first patient to get pregnant with twins after using clomid. She initially told me not to be discouraged if it took a few rounds to get pregnant (at all) . Surprise!

I am also having twins, I got pregnant on my third IUI both times,,,,the first time, a singleton, he is 11 months old, this time, twins! I am almost 15 weeks pregnant-we were shocked to find out! Third try was lucky for us! I am also 38 years old. I only had two target sie follicles and I guess they both took, this time, the first time I had 4 and only one took. Sonya

Hello! I am nearing the end of my 2 week wait after my second round of clomid and can feel the signs of AF coming on. :( I took a pregnancy test today even though I am only 9 dpo and it came out BFN. For some reason I have been having a much harder time this cycle. During the last month me best friend has told me she is expecting, my sister has had her first baby girl, and my cousin hhas also told me she is expecting. All of these were girls that were never as interested in having children as I was. Anyways, baby dust to all. :) --Holly

Hi there, I am currently on my second cycle of clomid (100mg), hCG and IUI. My first pregnancy we had one baby and only did clomid. How many of you did IUI's and clomid and when did you get preg? Does IUI raise the chance of twins? I know clomid does a little.... I was disspointed that it didn't work the first cycle this time, as it did with our son. Next week I should be going in for the iui again. fun fun

I HAVE A ?... WE HAVE USED CLOMID IN THE PAST AND AFTER OUR NEXT CYCLE WE WILL BE STARTING IT AGAIN... BE4 WE USED IT ON CYCLE DAYS 5-9 AND THIS TIME MY DR HAS DONE DAYS 3-7... IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?... NO WE NEVER GOT TWINS FROM USING IT BE4 BUT WE'D LOVE THEM IF IT WOULD HAPPEN :) THANX

Hi there, I was taking clomid on cd 2-6, but I was doing IUI and taking injections on a monitored cycle, the check your b/w and do u/s to see wherre things are at. It's causes more follicles to grow and then medication to ensure that you ovualate, then the IUI. I did this with my firt pregnancy, and our second,...this time we are expecting twins. I do think that it's has the same effect whenever you take it. Good luck. Sonya

I started using clomid in 05'. I used it for 3 months 50mg with no luck. My doctor upped me to 100mg for the clomid challenge test before doing an IUI the next month. Instead I concieved our son mar 06', no IUI needed. We started trying again in jan 07 the doctor doubled my clomid back to 100 and we concieved with IUI in April but miscarried at 6 weeks. We have been doing IUI and clomid since then and this month of august my doseage was upped to 150 and another clomid challenge test, we are now pregnant and waiting for our U/S on 9-7. Possibility of twins perhaps. I am just excited to have a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby/babies:) Good luck to all the TTC and mommies to be.

Hey there, I am on clomid 150mg now and doing IUI's. I can take a preg test next Monday, so I'M waiting. yuck. Can you tell me what the Clomid Challenge is? I have never heard that term before and have taken clomid for 3 months this time and got preg after 3 months 2 years ago with my son.... Do you know what the IUI increases your chances of getting preg to? I can't remember what my Dr told me. It was so long ago that we talked about all that. Now we just go in and do it. Thanks so much

Clomid Challenge test is when the Dr checks your blood levels for FSH at day 3 and day 11 or 12 . With taking clomid from days 5-9. It lets them know how well the doasge is working with your body to induce ovulation. I do think IUI and clomid increase getting pregnant. Due to the sperm not having to travel as far, where as normally they get weeded out at the cervix. Hope this helps
