I have a question. I am wondering if there is a chance of a person having period like symptoms (clots for 2 days) when miscarrying a twin?? Reason why I am asking, is because I am 5 days late, my first day of my last period was Jan 18th. My spouse and I haven't had that much love makin in the last month, i know i know it only takes once, But i am thinking i had symptoms (natious) before my last period. I have very tender br___ts, my lower abdomin is tender, like i have a pouch already and when i bend over i feel like i am squishing something. i have been having headaches, i urinate more often, back pain. My spouse was a twin, and his twin was still born. Anyone with any thought on this i would appreciate. Thank you

Your spouse being a twin would have no bearing on you having twins. Fraternal twins come from the female's side of the family. Have you taken a HPT to see if you are pregnant?

I agree, your spouse being a twin doesn't affect your ability to concieve twins. Do you know that you are pregnant and if so, do you know if you are carrying one or more? Many women with multiples do spot/bleed which can be frightening, but I would talk to your OB first before freaking out.

I have not taken a test, because if fear of being let down. and I feel i may not be far along enough for it to show. I miscarried last August. And it took 4 urine tests and 3 blood tests to finally show i was. By that time i was 2 1/2 months. I know with my spouse being a twin doesnt' affect me. I just gave that info anyway. the reason why i ask about the heavy bleeding was because of wheni had my last period it wasn't quite normal. the first 2 days were discharge, then clots for 2 days then i was done. and i had nasiousness for about 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after. and now i have the sore b___bs and everything.

this also happened to me, with the heavy period for the last period i had wheni was pregnant last year. so i was kind of concerned. I have read that some woman have spotting when miscarriing a twin (invisible twin syndrom), and because of the nasiousness before my last period. I wasn't sure if this is a possibility or not

When you miscarried, did they check to see if everything was out or did you have a D&C? The reason I ask is because I had a friend that miscarried and she didn't go to the DR to make sure everything was out. She ended up pa__sing clots and having extremely heavy periods until finally she went to the DR and they found that there was still some matter inside that needed to be sc___ped out. The syndrome you are referring to in called Vanishing Twin Syndrome (VTS) and there are usually no signs of a m/s. The baby simply is absorbed back into your body. I do know that there are times when you can bleed, but I don't know about pa__sing clots. I believe your cervix would have to dilate for that to happen. Also, if you are 5 days late, that is plenty of time to show a positive. The tests now can detect 5 days before your period with small traces of HCG so you should be all ready to take one.
