hi i have been reading all the posts put on here and i have found yucca/ca__sava/manioc at a univseral greocery store here in quebec city i just lost my baby over the weekend was 9 weeks pregnant but when they did and ultarsound the pregnancy sac was there but no embryo was in it..its called a blighted ovum or anembryonic pregnancy i haven't researched that yet but i found it in a pregnancy book early today this first time i read all your posts was yesterday and today i went out looking to find all these thing you all have been talking about but i am not too sure i trust this vitex that has been mentioned..i have no problem getting pregnant and i am regular in my periods i was told by the doctors i ahve to wait til i have a period again once and then we can try again and we are going to but we are really big on wanting twins the only history at all is my husband have a set of identical ones on his side of the family somewhere. Also as i mentioned i have found the yucca root ca__sava whatever you want to call it but how do i cook it and can you actually eat the peelings because it is supposeably those that make you hyperovulate??

Kat21-try cooking the yucca by peeling the skin off and boil it in salt water. Cover the yucca with the salt water, let it boil, than simmer w/a lid on. It takes a while for them to get soft in the middle. Don't let it cook until the water is empty, it will burn the yucca. You can it it after it's done cooking as is b/c of the salt water. It makes the yucca tasty instead of bland. Good luck to you too. We are in the process of having Twins!

Kat21, another thing you can do is thoroughtly wash, and cut up the yucca or/and white yam (name, isu, etc) into pieces with the bark on it, wrap it up in foil paper and bake like a potatoe. when fully baked (soft centre), peel off the bark and mash with garlic, olive oil/b___ter, salt , cilantro and other aromatic spices that you like. serve with meat, fish and vegetable of your choice. YOu can also peel , slice and parboil for like 3 mins, and then season to tast and fry or bake like its french/steak fries. The healthiest is to boil it though, but you should definately take advantage of seasoning so as to give it some taste. additionally, you can subst_tute potatoes for the yam when you are making meat pies, and stews. I eat the white yam and almost yucca everyday (tis part of my cultural staple), so I know how to cook it in almost 12 different ways!!

My husband and I are hoping to try for a pregnancy in either November of 08 or March of 09. We would like to have two more children, but as I am 5 years older than he, and am over 30, we would love to have the next pregnancy result in twins. Ive read all the posts here but do not see anything that explains how to take the vitex. Is it something that is taken everyday? And if so, what is the dosage (mg).

WantingTwins - July 6

Hi everyone, I have just started looking into having twins naturally. I have 2 other children (DS, 5 and DD, 3) and I have always wanted twins. They don't run in my family or my DH's. I don't really know where to get started. I did take herbs to help us conceive a girl and it worked so I'm hoping to take something(s) to help us on twins. Has any of these supplements help any of you have twins or is it wishful thinking?

aoluwa1, I hope you are still checking this site. I am very interested in the yams, but I just read where they can be very toxic. What's your take on that? Can I buy these yams online? Thanks

KiraLeigh - September 4

Hi everyone. My name is Kira and I am 20 years old. I have have a Mirena Coil for 4 years and I am looking at having it taken out in the next couple of months. I am really wanting to have twins. My partner is a twin, and there is a history of twins on both my mother and fathers side. What can I do to increase my chances. This will be my first pregnancy.

aoluwa1 - September 5

Hi Jamiesmom, the answer to ur question is that ca__savas can be very toxic if eaten raw (don't try it ever!) but if cooked or baked its like eating a potatoe. Howeve, Ghana yams and Nigerian yams (white/yellow on the inside) are harmless to eat. However, its still like a potatoe where u would have to cook or bake it in order to eat it. Unfortunately, I am not able to put website on this forum, but trying type in a search enging ' Nigerian yams' or 'ghana yams' for sale online and see if u can order it online or find a store that sells them close to you. the best way to get all the nutrients in the yam is if you roast it will the skin on, and then peel off the skin when its time to eat it..

hifriday - I'm sorry about your m/c. How are you doing now? I'm also 40. I have no clue as to how much and how long you should take this. I'm sure some of the other ladies on this thread can help you. Have you read earlier post on this thread where some of the ladies have tried or were going to try this. Good Luck to you and please keep us posted. Krissy68

Garys Girl - September 28

i lost my identical twin girls on august 16th, they had twin to twin transfusion syndrome, the loss of these babies was the worst thing i have ever done, kailee and kilee basically starved to death, i had to go thru labor and everything, i got to hold them and kiss them and tell them i loved them and i got to walk away with out my babies... i am now obsessed with becoming pregnant with twins, i know i will never replace kailee and kilee, but i almost NEED to get pregnant with twins again. my dads mother had a set of twins that didnt make it, and my husbands grandparents had 2 sets of twins only one baby out of 4 survived. im almost 33 and im a little overweight, and my husband is almost 34, seems from what i read our odds are a little higher with my age, and i have had 4 children, plus a miscarraige and the twins, so i have had 6 pregnancies, i guess that is a plus too... ive read all of your suggestions and if anyone has anymore please let me know...

TO GARY"S GIRL - hi - i lost one of my identical twin girls in 2003 to TTTS (my survivor is a normal healthy 5 year old (born at 23 weeks!) i like you truly feel like i NEED to try it again. i think a successful twin pregnancy would "heal" me a little. i know it will never bring erika back, nothing can do that. this will sound absolutely crazy probably, but last summer i went to a channeler to try to contact erika. that is not normally something i would be into, but a desperate mother will consider almost anything! anyway, during the session the "spirit" i was speaking to basically told me that you make "contracts" with other souls to be their mother. i am going again to see her soon and find out if i can make a contract with two souls. if there are two (or any) that want me for their mama. again, i know it sounds odd, but it is worth a shot, right!

First off, hello everyone! A little about me, I currently have a 1 and 1/2 year old boy. As far as I can remember I have always wanted twins so here is a little family history. My father has identical twin cousins, and my mother has identical twins on her side (either cousins, or 2nd cousins) I can't remember. Also there is a set of fraternal twins on my mothers side. I really believe that if you have the correct type of yam you have a definite increase in the chanve of conceiving twins, which brings me to what aoluwai had said earlier. From what she experienced and also from other places I have read there are many places in Africa where it is more rare not to have twins than to actually have twins! Which brings me to aoluwai-----I have a question----- I am very interested in different cultures and love the fact that you know many ways to cook up the yams to make them tasty!! If there is anyway you could share these, I know I would be greatly appreciative!! Also I live in RI and cannot find a store anywhere that would even carry the Ghana or NIgerian yams. I can't even find a specialty store here, sometimes I really hate RI--there's no "flavour" here! I didn't know if there is a way you could contact me so we could discuss this further?? Thanks for listening to the ramblings of me -- and here's to happy little miracles to come!!!

o7sugar - December 18

Oh, I forgot a couple of things -- my dad's sister had miscarried fraternal twins. Also I am hoping to conceive May 2009, so I need to start eating those yams!!!! :)
