Pregnant Through Clomid

Alright, I am going to ask the question and it may be dumb. How do you know when you ovulate? I am reading all of these stories and everyone is saying they ovulated on this day or that day. How do you really know? My husband and I are starting clomid next month since we having been trying for over a year and have had no success. My periods are so irregular, sometimes 50 days that I really dont know when I'm ovulating. Help?

Alicia, The best way I found was by using the over the counter ovulation predictors. You can buy them pretty much everywhere. Ebay sells them pretty cheaply though. If you are on fertility drugs, it is difficult sometimes to tell when you are ovulating if you use the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor and it's expensive anyway. Just buy the sticks that you use just like a home pregnancy test and it will let you know if you will ovulate in the next day or two. Good luck!

Alicia, I forgot to say that for a normal cycle, most women ovulate on day 14 or so. If your cycle is longer, it is approximately 14 days before your period would be due. With Clomid's help, I always ovulated later - day 19 or 20 of my cyle. That's where the ovulation prediction sticks came in handy.

~Hello~ I am on my seventh day on provera and I have no idea what to expect. I am suppose to take clomid on days 5-9. What should I expect to happen. Is there bad side effects? Is there a higher chance of multiples. My doctor didn't tell me anything.

Hi! This is my first month on Clomid after trying for 2 years to get pregnant naturally. I have been feeling very strange and want your advice. I am on day 29 of my cycle and have spotted very lightly when I usually start with heavy periods. I have also been getting the abdominal pains. Is this a sign that Clomid is working??

Hey I did not concieve on Cloimd however I am having twins and in the begiining I new it was a twin pregnancy. I had major weight gain right away and my abdomen hurt from the beginning because of my uterus stretching. I did not find out unitl my first ultrasound at 18 weeks but I always say go with your gut feeling.

Jennifer, Your period should come soon. It usually comes seven to ten days after the first day of provera. Then you will take the clomid on days 5-9. Start testing for ovulation around days 11-16. Some people ovulate a little later, so don't give up. Is your doctor monitoring you ex. bloodwork, sono? Well good luck

I too am taking clomid. Just finished my 3rd cycle this past Friday my level went from 13 two months ago to 38 this past month. So i am hopeful that it will work and i will be "with child" soon! Best wishes to all.

I too was on Clomid and am now 11 weeks pregnant with twins. I have several friends on Clomid but they only had singletons. I have had some cramping too but my dr. said it's the uterus growing. She said if the pain is so bad you can't stand up and you have heavy bleeding there's a problem but otherwise it's fine.

Soni - April 28

This is my first month of clomid and I am day 28. How early can you test . My cycle is very regular. I am also afraid of multiple births.

Laura - May 5

Hey Soni, my doctor told me the earliest time you can test to get an accurate reading is a day or two before your missed cycle. He also said the odds for multiples only increase about 5% or so. I figured it was worth the chance. I miscarried on March 18, 2005 at 8 weeks and now am on my first batch of Clomid since then start ovulating tomorrow and hoping for the best. Best of luck to all you ladies it is nice to know we are not alone.

Can anyone please help me with a doubt I have. This is my second month on Clomid. The first month I had all the symptoms (ovary pains, mood swings, etc). However, this second month I have not had any symptoms. Is this normal? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Laura - May 6

Hey Angie I have taken Clomid several times and never had a great deal of symptoms after the first month. I think you tolerate it better the second month. All I had the second month was some achiness in my back and sides but nothing significant. Hope this helps. Best of luck I just finished my first round since my miscarriage and hoping for the best. here's to pitter patters of little feet to us all.
