I am CD5, have been taking 200mg of SI every morning since CD3. No side effects so far...dnt know if I should be happy or concerned LOL. I start 50mg Clomid 2nite. Praying when I have my B/W on day 21 that it shows I O'd and that my numbers are higher then they were last month.

ataylor0901: Hey just wanted to check in on you and see where you are at in your cycle. I am 12dpo....I just received my prog test results back from my dr....im at 11.1!!!! last month with just 50mg Clomid I was only at 2.6. I took 200mg of Soy this cycle with the 50 mg clomid. I am super happy and now very anxious to test this weekend!!! Baby Dust!!!

I am on CD7. I am taking 200mg of soy twice daily at 6 am and 6 pm. We are very anxious! I keep having dreams I'm pregnant so we're hoping this works! Let me know what the test says. Good Luck!

Let me be more specific: I took the soy once daily for CD3 and 4, twice daily CD5-7, and once daily CD8 and 9. We'll see if it has similar results to the Soy/Clomid partnership....:) Hopefully it does.

Just an update...I am on CD12 and all the signs of ovulation are here! I have not ovulated this early in a long time. Praying we conceive this month.

Thats great news...my fingers are crossed for you and sending baby dust your way AF showed yesterday so I am CD2. I will start the soy again 3-7 and clomid 5-9. I am a little bummed but to be honest I am just happy that the soy worked and made me O. Keep me posted =)

Repost: (sorry, I just want to get to know as many of my fellow TTCTWINNERS as possible :D ) Hello everyone, I'm new here, well actually that's not all together true. I've been a silent reader for quite some time now on these forums searching for information/statistics regarding u/p clomid and conceiving twins for a 22 y/o women with a 16 month old DS (conceived naturally, and on first time having ever tried). I am fairly overweight, above 30 bmi. Have been told by a doctor once in my teens that she suspects i may have pcos though i do not have any of the regular symptoms as far as she could tell. Have hirsutism, on face and body am over weight (no difficulty losing though if i want)and she suspected that i may be close to insulin resistant. Although not quite. She had me on metformin (250mg i think it was 2-3 times a day)at that time (wasnt ttc). The met made me sick all the time and i decided to stop it. Ever since then I stopped caring for curing or healing pcos if even i had it since I always had my period, although not on time ever. Irregular by upto 5-6 days only. So cycle would last anywhere from 28days to 30 (at that time). No cysts were found on ovaries at that time. Nothing else was checked. Just my hirsutism and being overweight and acne/bacne (at that time) and hyperpigmentation(non hereditary) was looked at. The doctor told me based on these things that i would never have children naturally. I though nothing of it then, and now that I so easily had my DS think even more nothing of it now. Several years after visiting that doctor for the last time. I have not had many checkups other than during my pregnancy in which my blood sugar and pressure and every single thing always came back normal. Only thing was I have a blood type which I would need to take shots so that during labor it wouldnt cause issues with the babies blood mixing w/ mine and creating an immune attack on him. I have no other problems other than a possible (very self diagnosed) luteal phase dysfunction or problem. I have never checked or noticed my ovulation though my periods usually occur anywhere after 30 days to 42, very random but always in this range. So i truly have no clue what this means or could mean towards my ovulation or cycle and would really like to know. Basically my husand and I would love to have twin boys more than anything in this world. I would love to have a singleton boy if I could not have twins, simply because it is both my husbands dream family and mine. It is not that I have anything against having girls, if God were to bless me with a daughter or daughters then I would be truly blessed too, but two boys for now would be my ideal and it would help me to achieve my goal of having a large family with older boys and younger girls much sooner if I were to hit two storks with one stone by having twin boys, or twin boy/girl! Basically I am posting on here to see if anyone can help me figure out when and how to take what to achieve this goal. I know for a fact that timing is the best tool for trying to attempt at gender selection when TTC. But this is a lot more confusing when added to TTC Twins coherently! So this is why I seek your help guys! Please, be kind, non judgemental if you could and please do give me some info that can help me figure out my next step as I am very interested in TTC Twin/multiple boys ASAP! ;) Right now I have 30 tablets of 50mg clomid. But do not have any of the other meds/ products I want to try ( SI(in combo w/ clomid),e primrose oil, prost cream, hcg shot, mucinex, baby asperin, folic acid or preseed) as I don't really know how these might effect the outcome gender-wise just yet. Was hoping someone, anyone could shine some light on it for me.... Thanks in advance everyone! Looking forward to TTC Twins with you guys soon!!! Prayers and Baby Dussssstttttt to all!!!!!

Mum, I don't have any answers for you, but you can get the SI at your local walmart for about $6. I decided on the soy because I read somewhere that it increases the chance of a boy when taken in the pill form and has similar effects as Clomid and ca__sava root. Ca__sava root USUALLY must be taken for about 2 years before it has any desired effect in the twinning department. Diet also can have an effect....I think your best bet would just be to call a local nurse line or your doctor and ask their advice.

Also, overweight women have a better chance at conceiving twins for some reason....

Hi, Im new to this forum thing. I just heard about SI and thinking about giving it ago, without clomid. Hoping it works. Also like a alot of you i would love twins. My self and my husband both have twins in the family so hope this helps my chances. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Im currenlty on cd2... Any info would be great... Thanks

Yes, if twins do run in YOUR family then you have better chances. If the twins are on your mothers side and preferably fraternal then you have higher chances of hyperovulating (releasing more eggs) in a single O. I've heard that identical twins are thought to be more upto chance rather then hereditary, but IMHO I still think that it would up your chances if they are on your mothers side. Fathers side doesn't count for twins, matters a bit for gender but not for multiples. Hope that helps, and Baby Dust to all!!!

After re-reading the above post over again I want to clarify a bit about that last sentence being about your DH, not YOUR father. It doesn't matter whether YOUR CHILDREN'S FATHER has had twins in his family or not, as you would be the one producing the actual egg and his biology/heredity has nothing to do with it. Although the same would go for your fathers side to I believe, as it is the mothers side which matters in a women's reproductive system hereditarily!

As for suggestions. You should look into trying robitussin or mucinex as Clomid does dry up your CM quite a bit, making it a bit less likely you'll conceive that cycle. Now I'm not sure which brand of these two or how much dosage but you should look into that if your interested. There's a specific brand that has a specific ingredient that keeps your CM all, well, CM-ey. So look into that. Other than that higher dosages of folic acid and some B vitamins couldn't hurt either. Some other things to look into: Evening Primrose Oil Preseed Lubricant Prostaglandin cream DHA supplementation Baby aspirin HCG Trigger shots Remember, always double up on the dose of SI compared to how much Clomid you are taking. Say you are taking 50mg clomid, you should take 100mg SI to be strong enough. Also, try to take it on separate days for 5 days at a time(it can overlap a day or two towards the end) counting from the first day of your AF onwards. For example, I plan on taking 120mg SI(for good measure) days 1-5in the am then 50 mg Clomid days 5-9 in the evenings. Then a "booster day" on CD 10 or 11 taking 100mg Clomid plus 160mg SI. Remember, do your own research and find out what works best for you. Don't go by what I or any other person is saying. I myself am not taking all of the above, these are just suggestions and things I've heard/seen here and there. Always be cautious! Hope this helps, :D. ~*~**~***~Baby Dust~*~**~***~

mumtazg38f thank you for the information. Im looking at starting SI in a couple of days to help conception. I ovulate but have been trying for a while and still nothing. We didnt have any issues with our 1st child just having issues this time round. Do you think SI might help, looking at taking 80mg to start with????
