I had a US at 5.1 due to bleeding. The report says "sm. inter u gest. 2 y/s rec. 2nd u/s 1 - 2 wks to conf." (I was at the ER so they gave me the report to take to my doctor.) Does this suggest what I think it does? I have another US scheduled for the end of the week, but I haven't see my doctor in between. Has anyone else gotten this type of report?

I had a 2 u/s on Wed. It showed one 7w1d baby and a second yolk sac and deteriorating fetal pole. The sonographer said it looked like a vanishing identical twin. I see the doctor on Monday to get the final word.

I had a 2 u/s on Wed. It showed one 7w1d baby and a second yolk sac and deteriorating fetal pole. The sonographer said it looked like a vanishing identical twin. I saw the doctor on the following Monday and he confirmed the report. He also said that if the pregnancy had continued it would have been very risky since the babies were in the same sac. I have to go for another u/s next week to make sure the remain "material" has reabsorbed. I'm strangely disappointed, but relieved at the same time. This is baby # 4 and twins would've made 5, so the idea was a bit daunting.
