how early can you tell if you're having twins? can you feel it at all or guess or can you only know by an ultrasound?
and if the dad is a twin, is it likely id have twins?

my great aunt also had twins, my second cousins are twins, my brother had twins, and theres a few twins in the older family of the dad

I found out that I was pregnant with twins at 7 and a half weeks via ultrasound. My great aunt on my mothers side had twins also. Based on what I've read recently, fraternal twins are genetic on the mothers side by releasing two eggs during a cycle. Identical twins just kind of happen when the egg splits for reasons unknown. Some say that you can tell identical or fraternal if there is one placenta or two, but I've read that it doesn't matter either way. Hope this helps. I am currently one day shy of 10 weeks and the news is still sinking in.

I was able to feel my twins kicking at 12 weeks. and you could tell there was more than one because the kicks would be different and too far apart (space-wise)
