Hello, I have had a positive preg test done on march 5th, they thought by mens cycle i was atleast 7 weeks at the end of march and ultrasound was done showing 2 egg sacks, they didnt see anything so for the last month i have been going in for ultrasounds, with them only being able to see the sacs they are both growing in size but show nothing growing in them, they thought I was atleast 10 weeks this week. I went to someone else too see if it was the same conclusion (the radilogist actually) cause the doc want me to do a D&C but I just have heard so much about where I get my care and some others have had this problem, with the same dr. I dont have any choices as I live overseas and on a miltary base. They did about 36 pictures and saw both of the egg sacks, but, by their measurements I was measureing about 5 weeks and 1 day. Does this make sence to anyone or have had the same problem, I have no cramping, no bleeding, very little nausea, and virtually no br___t tenderness anymore. Can anyone help? The doc is still pushing for D&C but is willing to let me try to pass it in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for listening and reading my post.

I would NOT get a D&C if the other dr said your only 5weeks. But that would really be impossible for oyu to get a pos bfp last mo ya know? There is a lady here at my church who was told there was no baby, no baby, well finally about 10-12 weeks along they found him..Shes now due in about 5weeks with a healthy baby boy..There could be problems if your infact NOT pg and you continue to let the sacs grow. But I wouldnt do anything till I was comfy with the results. Have you had any spotting or anything? It sounds that since the sacs are now measuring 5weeks that maybe they are shrinking on their own and you may begin to release everything soon. Im sorry your having to go through this..HUGS

Try and avoid D&C if you can since it usually isn't that great a situation to go through, however that is a personal choice.
Sounds like you have 2 blighted ovums, that is where the embryo stops growing very very early but the sac(s) continue to develope.
Terribly sorry this is happening, who knows what will happen?

I would push to get my HCG levels tested 48 hours apart, if there doubling you still have hope but if there going down more than likely its a nonviable pregnancy.

Don't do the D&C!! My 1st pregnancy was similar. I was told my baby had died because there was only a sack. I had absolutely no morning sickness. He said maybe the dates are off. They keep doing HCG levels and they were all over the place. I refused the D&C, long story short, 9 months later I gave birth to an 8 lb 5 oz baby girl. I say wait a few weeks then go back for an ultrasound to see if they see the baby and heartbeat.

If you had only 1 u/s, I would think that they might be off on their dates, but if for the last month you have been going in for a lot of u/s and it show 2 sacs which keep growing but no baby, that probably is a blighted ovum. The sac continues to grow, in some cases the hcg levels continue to rise. I would wait a week and go for another u/s. If there is no change like a fetal pole, then you need to prepare yourself for a loss. I had a blighted ovum. I did make sure that was what it was and then I had a DNC. I did that because with the sac getting bigger and no bleeding or cramping and I still felt pregnant, I felt my body would not be ready to m/c on its own for quite some time and I wanted to, and I hate to say it this way, but get it over with so I could move on and get pregnant again. I did get pregnant several months later with twins.
