Could all the ladies that are carrying or have had twins please tell me when they first found out and if any of your earlier ultrasounds showed only one baby?

What cycle did you conceive?

I conceived on my first cycle. I found out it was twins when I had my 7 week ultrasound. I found out the s_x of both of the babies at 22 weeks.

Jazz, was day one the first day of heavy bleeding or once you started spotting?

Thanks Melissa- so I guess theres no way they could have miss diagnosed at my scan , I was 6w5d and they only saw one. Its weird because I had a strong feeling that there may be twins on the way.

Hello Everyone! Is this thread dead now, it was such a nice one! I am on my first round of Clomid, I took the last pill yesterday. I started it on day 5-9. I started DtD on day 7 just to be sure and am doing it every other day as my doctor suggested... my clomid was doctor prescribed. So now I am playing the waiting game... it is not fun, but on the plus side, by b___sts are growing overnight! Also the clomid gave me horrible headaches, but I took it at noon everyday so that may have contributed to the side effects. Baby Dust to all!

to mandy: whether prescribed or unprescribed, as in your case you took prescribed clomid, I don't understand the difference. why is it more of a guilt to the ones taking unprescribed? you took prescribed and had premature triplets. sweet hugs to them! prescribed or unprescribed it may be the same end result.

The premature triplets were mine, not Mandy's and they weren't exactly the result of clomid. "why is it more of a guilt to the ones taking unprescribed?" There are so many things that can go wrong in a clomid cylce. When a woman takes u/p clomid complications are much more likely to occur than in a doctor-monitered cycle. Obviously a woman who took u/p clomid for selfish reason (i.e. to have multiples) and has premature baby(ies) is going to feel guiltier than an infertile woman who took clomid under a doctor's supervision.

I really hope you got your point across yetanother! I worry enough about my twins being premature or ill & they were conceived under doctor's supervision (IUI & puregon, not clomid). I couldn't even begin to imagine my worry/quilt if I did this for any other reason than years of fertility issues. Most of us never wanted multiples, we hoped for a single, healthy child, something we were unable to have without intervention!

Corona and yetanothertripletmom, infertility drugs exsist for a reason, and women with your kind of struggles are that reason. Don't feel guilty because you are the exception to the rule. It is usually eneventful for those under medical supervision. If I had problems I wouldn't hesitate to haul my rear end down to the doctor to get some clomid as well. As it is, we have a small problem and they have put me on progesterone. We'll see how that goes. = )

Thanks Frances! Progesteron can be a wee bit unpleasant! Well, that depends on how it's being administered. I was on supositories as I have a short luteal phase. Yuck, yuck!!

Yuck! How well I remember those little suppositories. I actually stayed on them 5 weeks longer than the doctor recommended because I was so afraid that I would lose the babies if I stopped them. Silly me. :)
