Yuck! How well I remember those little suppositories. I actually stayed on them 5 weeks longer than the doctor recommended because I was so afraid that I would lose the babies if I stopped them. Silly me. :)

Ladies, my variety is oral, if it was a suppository ( I know I'm a dork ) it would pretty much make my life too weird to deal with. I don't know that we could continue our rigorous schedules under such duress. (You don't want to know what I mean by that, trust me.) I any case, is nausea supposed to be a common side effect? I feel kinda icky.

I live in Kentucky and have been ttc#3 since Nov 2005. Did not have to use medical intervention to get pregnant with first two children even though I have always had irregular periods. Took clomid 50 mg days 5-9 in Dec 05 with no luck. Took 100 mg days 5-9 this cycle. On cd 32 still getting -hpt. Now waiting for af. Then will start clomid 150mg days 1-5. Hoping, hoping, hoping. ~*~*Babydust to all!!!*~*~

I am excited to say that I am 4 weeks pregnant with my third child. I conceived using Clomid 100 mg days 3-7 and 1500mg/daily Metformin for PCOS. It was not easy. It took a long time. I started on Clomid a year ago, tried it along with Metformin for 9 cycles. Nothing happened and I was getting very discouraged. I gave up using the Clomid in December, but had 1 refill left on my prescription. I decided last month to give it one more try after taking a short break from it. It worked! I ovulated very late, day 23, but 7 days after conceiving was able to see a faint line on the pregnancy test. Does this mean it could be twins for that line to appear so soon? I would LOVE to have twins. It's frustrating because my insurance won't allow the first prenatal visit until between weeks 10 and 12. That seems like forever away. For all those getting discouraged with the Clomid, don't give up. It might just take a while. Good luck!

Twinmom2be - March 28

ChristieB-Congrats! I am now 14 weeks pg with twins from 1 round of clomid days 3-7. I got a BFP 2 days before af but that had nothing to do with it being twins as my friend is only having 1 and got her BFP 2 days before as well. They say the hcg levels for twins are higher but later on not in the beginning. Good luck.

ChristieB - March 29

Twinmom2be-Congrats to you! Twins after 1 round of clomid...how exciting! How many mg did you take? When do you find out what you are having? I'm new to this site, so I have a question on the abbreviations used. What is BFP and af?

Twinmom2be - March 29

ChristieB-Thanks! BFP is big fat positive and AF is aunt flow. I was on 50 mg. I think I already ovulated on my own but my luteal phase was off. I will not find out until my 20/21 week ultrasound so I have about 6/7 more weeks. I can't wait to find out.

ChristieB - March 29

To Twinmom2be-Thanks for the info. That is hillarious! Where does everyone figure out these abbreviations??? Keep us posted on what you're having. I'm so excited for you!

I thnk I need to go back to school! :)

ChristieB - March 30

babysel22-Thanks so much for the info. I was feeling a bit confused, but now I can refer back to that if I have any questions. Any other new members can do the same. How do you know all that anyway?

yas2000 - March 31

hi wannababy, first of all...i am NOT going to condem you for contemplating to take unprescribed clomid. since i have done the same..HOWEVER, I consider myself fairly healthy and have periods as clockwork, had 2 previous pregnancies and no other fert_tly problems.... i cannot stress enough that in your case where you feel you have irregular periods already being a problem that taking clomid without medical support is somewhat so much more risky and personally i wouldn't do it... i am surprised that if you have problems with your period, you should consult your doctor and get his/her support to establish why that is so.....you need to know why and maybe the problem can be resolved/discovered and hence the right diognosis can be made and hence the right medication can be administered....what i wouldnt do if i was in your shoes is take a fertilty medication when i myself am having fertilty problems...and don't even know why? clomid does carry side effects (and theyu can be qutie risky..)...one of them being the increse in miscarriages...if you have already got irregular periods this will be more likely to be the case..you may get pregnant and loose the baby sooner or later since one of the possible reasons for irregular periods is due to hormonal imbalance! clomid allows for fertilisation to increase in chance by higher than a normal percentage...but it is your own body that has to maintain the pregnancy once established...clomid's work is done once conception takes place!!!!women with pcos and other fertilty problems have tests done done to check for these hormonal imbalances also are constantly monitored in case medical intervention has to take place....so please think it over..if you have fertilty problems and clomid is right for you, the doctor will no doubt help you out and prescribe it for as well as support you in this....so don't jump into the complete unknown...nevertheless if you feel you know what your doint and have thought and done something about the issues i have raised above with no result....and still decide to do what you want to do...i respect your decision, wish you all the luck in the world....and god bless...try and find some support within family or friends in case things don't work out or go bad..which i hope they don't!!!!

oopps...LOL this post is for the other thread..sorry guys!!!

babyloves2play - March 31

Well, I'm back again. Now on cd49 and starting to have signs of ovulation. Abundance of EWCM and watery CM, cervical position high and soft, positive opk last night (cd48). Temps around 97.54 this morning. Also had a pos opk on cd 41, temp was 97.00 that morning. Do you think I'm about to ovulate or get af?? My body is confusing me!!!

babyloves2play - March 31

Oops, fogot to mention I took 200 mg clomid on days 1 & 2 then took 100 mg on days 3 to 5 - this is second round for me. Haven't had a cycle this long since I was a teenager. Normally cycles are around 31 days. If I had started period when I was suppose to, right now would be my fertile time for that cycle. Do you think it is possible to ovulate this late and still get preggo?

amanda0203 - May 11

babyloves..so about what you have to go thru..not knowing your background..have you talk to the doctors..why your cycle is longer on clomid..why you not ovulate..i wonder whether you need a higher dose to stimulate ovul or need trigger shot to release the eggs..maybe need lapro to see if the tubes are open...usually clomid should cycle 27-30 days. when to expect AF..usually if you are on cd30, no AF, no +pregnant test urine and bloodwork, then they would give you provera to start AF again..but they have to make sure that you are pregnant... find reasons why not ovulation..I know some people did not ovulate until higher dose like 150 to 200mg. ask a doctor whether for you whether 3-7, 5-9 cddays would be better for you to help with o since more mature follicles will be release..maybe your follicle was too small to be release..im not sure..you have to make your own decision...i have friends and co-workers who took several attempts with clomid before pregnant, or use IUD, and/or In vitro..
