Hi, I have twin boys and would like to have twin or triplet girls for my next pregnancy. This way I can have a big family without going through so many years of pregnancy. How many here actually conceived two or more on clomid and since I already conceived twins spontaneously my first pregnancy -- would I run a risk of conceiving more than three?

Yup, another selfish person wanting multiples so they "can have a big family wihtout going through so many years of pregnancy". And duh haven't you read about the woman who conceived quints while on a low dose of clomid. You know, it's not like ppping a tic tac in your mouth.

Be happy that you dont have any issues w/fertility and don't mess w/unprescribed meds. You know what it is like to have twins.. dont a__sume that triplets or more would be the same.

hey, pregnancy is no fun at all no matter how many you carry...plus, I would like a lot of kids, but don't want to be raising them in my 50s so I feel like I need to seize the day -- have a couple more twin pregnancies and be done.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Just because you had one healthy twin pregnancy doesn't mean you'll have another healthy one (especially not with triplets). Your quote of "pregnancy is no fun at all no matter how many you carry" just shows how immature you really are.

I hope you realize you don't get to request "twin or triplet girls." You may get a boy (or three or four devastatingly premature boys). It's not a fast food restaurant where you place an order and send it back if it isn't what you wanted. And a singleton or even twin pregnancy isn't in the same league as a triplet gestation. Triplet pregnancies are amazingly difficult, scary, painful. The outcomes aren't always so pleasant, and they almost always require leaving the babies in the NICU for extended periods of time. Hopefully you'll grow up a little before you get pregnant again.

Have you had a twin pregnancy? Was the triplet pregnancy your first? Everyone is different...just because you had a triplet pregnancy and it wasn't easy doesn't make it automatically harder than every twin pregnancy. In fact, most twin pregnancies are probably harder any -- because they tend to last a lot longer. So a lot of triplet mothers who barely made it to the third trimester -- can you really talk about how difficult it was...plus most of you never even got to experience true labor. I delivered naturally nearly 16 pounds of baby...I think I would do just fine with another twin or yes, even triplet pregnancy....some of us are born for it I guess.

You are an idiot if you think your twin pregnancy was harder than a triplet pregnancy. This really just shows how clueless you really are.
When did you go on bedrest? When did you have to quite your job? When did you have to consume an enormous amount of calories to the point where you couldn't eat anymore? Where you couldn't even jeapordize the babies healthy by having any amnio or any other test? When you knew that one or all of your babies would be premature and weight about 3 lbs. (or less)? And the chances that they would be in the NICU for weeks?
Go ahead, pat yourself on your back because your twin pregancy was "sooo difficult" and you survived. Honey you don't know the half of it. Go ahead, post some more and really show your ignorance. Hmmm, better yet why don't you mention your "theory" to you doctor and get his opinion. Oh wait you can't because your doctor doesn't know about your illegal drug use.

sorry you had a rough time...but I have known mother's carrying singletons with similar problems as the ones you described. Go read about mother's pregnant with twins...there are many who have to quit their jobs and who are put on bedrest. You might as well be preaching for no one to get pregnant at all b/c of the risks of prematurity, preeclampsia etc etc which can happen in any pregnancy.

You're right. And by your reasoning anyone carrying one baby had it harder than your twin pregnancy because they had to carry their baby longer. Gee some even go beyond 40 weeks. Oh girl you need to seek out therapy and not have anymore kids.

Who are you referring to? The previous poster or Shawna?

You people who transfer more than one embryo during IVF or knowingly take a drug to make you hyperovulate, regardless of whether it is prescribed or not....are also taking risks with your babies out of your own selfish desires to conceive children. Why don't you adopt or foster instead of risking the lives of your babies?
All in all..I was just asking, since I had only recently heard of clomid. The thought of twins again is nice, but I looked up information on the drug and really don't like the looks of it. You people aren't doing anything good by losing control of yourselves and stooping to personal attacks...I really hope you will seek therapy for the sake of your familes if not for yourselves.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm referring to Shawna.

Hey, but isn't that what you are doing? I doubt that you've "changed your mind" after research on the internet for what, one day. Good luck to you Shawna and to your family. They're going to need it living with you.

Isn't it amusing to read the rantings of someone who "just doesn't get it"? I think she (and many others on this sit) need a reality check.

Oh and taking a drug for it's "intended use" and taking a drug that isn't prescribed to satisfy your own selfish desire for attention are two completely different things.
