So I went to my OB today and to my surprise she is prego! 2 months ago when i saw her she did not have a belly and she was rather rough. Today she was very nice and asking me what she could do for me. I was b__wn away! Anyways, she wants me on 50mg of clomid cd 5-9. But I have decided to take 100mg clomid cd3-7 and 50mg on cd8 just to give my egss a boost. My OB thinks that I have such long cycles because it takes my body longer to mature the eggs. So i think that it wont hurt to give them a boost. Then sometime between cd12-14 I will go in for an u/s (to check my follicles) followed by an Hcg shot if I have at least 1 is matured. I should O 36 hours after the shot and then we should bd every other day. She said that bd'ing everyday does not lower sperm count. But bd'ing every other day would ensure a better quality of sperm. she said that the sperm need a day to rest! lol I cant wait until my next cycle. I am so excited. Time is going to be soooo slow! We also talked about multiples and she there is only a 6% chance. Thats kinda sucks! And she said that there is no proven method to help sway the gender of the baby.

SoReady - Yes, but you have a family history of twins, does she know this? And you ovulate on your own, so I'm thinking your odds are a bit higher. If your grandmother, mother or yourself has carried twins, I believe it's four times as likely you will conceive twins than the average person. If you do have the gene that causes you to release multiple eggs at once, I'm thinking clomid will help stimulate that occurrence. Although even if you do have multiple eggs available, there's no guarantee that they will be fertilized or implant successfully. But there's no harm in thinking positive! When does your next cycle start?

Hey Lois My next cycle will probably start at the end of June. If it doesnt then my OB will give me provera to get it started. I have heard that having twins in the family will increase my chances of multiples but I had never heard that it was 4 times higher. My grandmother was a twin and she had 2 sets of twins! But she also had like 15 pregnancies and the more pregnanies that you have the higher the chance of multiples. I have not told my OB about my family history because I am afraid that she wont give me the hcg shot if she knows. I will be crossing my fingers that I will get pregnant in my next cycle. I am so excited! So how is your pregnancy going? When is your due date?

Lois4Kent - May 29

SoReady - This pregnancy is just like the last one, very easy going. :) Apart from killer heartburn every other day! I'm due mid July. It was the 8th but got pushed back to the 15th. Looks like you will be ttc around the time he's born! Unfortunately during this preg, I've become addicted to buying those little bear suits. Are those popular in the US? They are coveralls with hoods and little ears on them. I just love them. If I remember correct, the average rate of twin pregnancies in the US is 1 in 80. The rate of twin pregnancy among those with a family history of twins is 1 in 17. So yes, more than 4 times higher. ;)

WOW 1 in 17! I have never heard that before. That would be awsome! I am glad that you are having an easy going pregnancy. My son was so easy too! I hope that I have another easy pregnancy. Are you getting excited? Do you have everything ready for the new baby? What names have you picked out?

hi ladies!! How is evryone here? the forum is very quiet. I guess no 1 has new updates to share. I am on cd7 and finish clomid yesterday so here we are again in the baby dance.LOL I would luv to me if clomid increas my chance of having twins by more than 10% becuz fraternal twins run in my family by father.I have auntes and grand uncles who are fraternal twins(not all of them anyway)and my great grandma had 3 sets of fraternal twins and 1 set of triplets but m/c 2 of them, and my grandma had 1 or 2 sets of twins So does that bring up my chance? Just curious to know that's all.
