I only put on 33 lbs. total (less than I did with my singleton where I gained 40 lbs.). The twins were 6 lb. 4 oz. and 7 lb. when they were born. I'm not sure what 3 stone is equal to. I measured 48 weeks (for a singleton) when I delivered at 38 weeks, 1 day.

Well, I put on 50+ pounds and my babies were tiny preemies. I was only 11 pounds lighter a week after the c-section. They do say it is probably better to gain a bit too much rather than too little when gestating twins though the weight should come from a good diet.

There are suggested amounts of weight that a women should gain if she is carrying twins, triplets, etc. I feel that if you eat a healthy diet - lots of protein, calcium, vitamins then you will be fine. Example - I only gained 40 lbs and my babies were born at 32 weeks weighing just about 5 lbs each. BIG babies and I really didn't gain a tremendous amount of weight. good luck

30 lbs, my twins were each 5 lbs. Took 3 weeks for me to reach my before baby weight, b___st feeding two does wonders.
