hi everyone, i have a question. my partner and i have been trying for a baby for a few months now, i already have twins identical aged 4 their lovely, my partners gran is a twin herself but a fraternal twin and from what i understand its only fraternal twins which are hereditary isnt it? and skips a generation n travels through the male? so are the chances of twins again high for us?

Actually Fraternal Twins runs thru the female side of the chain not the male. The woman's body produces the number of eggs there are and the male body ONLY produces the s_x of the child(ren). They have the XX or XY chromosomes you have the eggies. I wish you luck with your TTC journey.

lea1 - The chances of you conceiving twins again is high as you have already proved once that you can conceive them naturally. Once you have had twins you have a high risk of conceiving twins again. Good Luck! Mel

fraternal twins is hereditary, identical is not. to have i dentical twins again is a one in 70000 chance i think? and to increase your chances of having fraternal twins, fraternal twins would have to be presents on your mums side. ie your mum, grandma, great-grandma, etc
