i had a c section cos the babys heartbeat was dropping and i was only 5cm dilated. i have decided to have a c section again cos im scared of a rupture even tho its not common its still possible and i wouldnt risk it

To several of the woman who wanted to know if their babies were big at around 30 weeks, at 30 weeks during my pregnancy, Mason was 5lbs 6 oz at 30 weeks and that was for a 10 pounder. I would say your baby will be a fair size. Probably around 7-8 pounds. And to Gemma, I'm in the same boat I had an emerg c-section with my son who is only 12 months and know I'm preggers again and I am not sure if I should do a repeat c or try natural again. The risk iis 1% for uterine rupture in a vbac regardless of gap between children, but you need to find out what the possibility of having the same complications as during your first labour repeating are.also I was told by the doctor I work with, uterine rupture is almost always now and incomplete, which is where the tissue along your scar becomes paper thin and has increased chance of completed rupture, but doesn't need surgery to fix. Personally, the though of another head ripping my v____a open and then being stuck after 27 hours of labour 2 epidurals a spinal tap and then a c- section scares the hell out of me!(I was rea__sured by a collegue though this may not repeat this time.Different baby, different labour)

gemma - October 8

the chance of a rupture is higher than 1% the space between the pregnancys does make a difference the closer together the more chance of a rupture, but saying that i know one lady who had a rupture after a 4 year gap, and i also know a lady who had 2 ruptures i know these woman personaly so the fact that i know that it can and does happen is enough for me to know a c section is for me the best way forward.

Ruth - October 10

I am 4-6 weeks and i was a little overweight before but almost at normal range. Ive only gained 5 pounds back of the 15 i lost but its all in my stomach and people keep asking me if im pregnant though when i weighed this much before, i didnt look pregnant. I feel very full and bloated and sometimes wonder if im somehow 4 months along and just happened to get my period. Doubtfull though.

Bethe - October 10

Ruth go to your doctor and he can figure all this out for u ....u cant be 4-6 weeks your either 4 or 6

Gemma - October 13

are either you or the lady who have had a rupture medical professionals? Your tone didn't seem very nice. I am a nurse with a 4 year nursing degree and I work in an OBGYN office in a university hospital. I think I'm qualified to say stats and information regarding births and I also am a mother.

gemma - October 14

my opinions were based on what i have seen happen, and also i had a chat with a dr who has been in the proffesion for 20 year plus. n e way that dnt matter i was just letting u know what i have experienced in my own family. whats being a mum got to do with it i am also a mum and i have also had a c section i have been told for my own piece of mind that a second c section may be the best option so thats what im doing whats the big problem.
